Rock Strongo
My mind spits with an enormous kickback.
if it were baseball, he'd be in with those "longevity" stats. why baseball and not the NFL?
from 95-98 he had 97 TD's to 51 picksSometimes longevity does that, I don't think it should. I think you should have to be a top player at your position for an extended period of time. Testaverde was not that.
If he had the equivalent stats for baseball, I wouldn't vote for him on that same principle that he wasn't a top player at his position for any period of time. There are members of the baseball HOF who are in due to those milestones who I don't think should be in (Lou Brock). And other members who reached those milestones and would be in if it wasn't for steroids, that I also wouldn't vote for (Sammy Sosa).if it were baseball, he'd be in with those "longevity" stats. why baseball and not the NFL?
A 4-year stretch where he was a top 5 QB isn't enough for me because outside that stretch, he had 10 other full seasons where he was mediocre to bad.from 95-98 he had 97 TD's to 51 picks

he had a stretch
why not?A 4-year stretch where he was a top 5 QB isn't enough for me because outside that stretch, he had 10 other full seasons where he was mediocre to bad.
Yeah that's my standard. Isn't that what we are talking about?why not?
is that just your standard?
kurt warner had 6 seasons where he was worth a shit
6
he played 16 games TWICE. he averaged 10 games a season. led the league in meaningful shit only his first 3 years as a starter. never did again. 1, 4000 yard season after age 30...in todays nfl. 1, 30 TD season after age 30.
i personally dont think warner belongs. but thats me.
i just find it funny when i bring up warnerYeah that's my standard. Isn't that what we are talking about?
thats a lot of quarterbacks.Put me down for a NO on the Testaverde HOF vote. His stats are by and large the product of his 21 year career. He compiled some nice numbers, but it took him forever to get them.
Baseball's HOF is more watered down than my future ex-wife's mashed potatoes.
But I didn't say that Warner should be in.i just find it funny when i bring up warner
6 good years, averaged 10 games a season, didnt lead in a thing after age 30 (year 3 as a starter)....yet hes in, and vinny is out...yet your standard for "no" on vinny is "only 4 years" when i see "only 6" in warner.
It's a mix of watered down and too exclusive to me. Guys like Schilling and Mussina should be in, guys like Lou Brock and Jim Rice should not.Baseball's HOF is more watered down than my future ex-wife's mashed potatoes.
She does make killer sweet potato fries though
ok...I'd probably vote no on them as well.

thisI'm on the fence with Warner and the thing that as my leaning over to the yes side is that when he was healthy and had some weapons, he was really freaking good. He has the "Shooting Star" thing going on and taking 2 historically shitty teams to the SB (3 trips, 1 win) hasn't been done by too many guys.
ok...

doesnt that make them all compilers, especially since mosrt of these guys were full time starters late in their careers vs vinny?
