You sure about that?

Rule 69 – Interference on the Goalkeeper

69.1 Interference on the Goalkeeper -

This rule is based on the premise that an attacking player’s position, whether inside or outside the crease, should not, by itself, determine whether a goal should be allowed or disallowed. In other words, goals scored while attacking players are standing in the crease may, in appropriate circumstances be allowed. Goals should be disallowed only if: (1) an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; or (2) an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact. The rule will be enforced exclusively in accordance with the on-ice judgement of the Referee(s), and not by means of video replay or review

The only problem with that is the league always waves off goals when something like this happens, so maybe I should take back my comment and rephrase it that the refs have always been consistent in that if a goalie gets touched and the puck goes in, they always wave it off, not that it's necessarily because it says it's in the rule book

It was clearly goalie interference because it was a Rangers player who touched the goalie :thumb:

Glencross brain farts a pass towards a guy who changed at the wrong time. That's hockey. Regardless of contact in the crease. (Right call BTW - no interference/no impact on the goal. No way Holtby was getting that one)

And it all wouldn't have mattered if Brooks Orpik could get the fuck out of the way if he won't commit to the block...

I think everyone was referencing the Ward non-goal. Don't think I've seen anyone arguing the legality of either of the Rangers' goals.

Who scored the goal that was waved off on Friday night? NBC spent so much time gushing over the foul that they never mentioned who put the puck in the net nor did they notice that no one went to the penalty box for goaltender interference.

Damn that was intense. No quit in either team. This series deserves 7 games it just sucks one of these teams has to go home.
