LMAO come on man

if you were making a million a year base .... you would have plenty of money to push back .... we arent talking minimum wage workers

So making a million base .... you wouldnt let your boss say hmmmm we are gonna take x amount away this year hoping for better profits .... but if it doesnt work out and you are unemployed in 3 years .... you are guaranteed xxxxx millions?

you damn right you would jump on it

Not saying no player will do that deal but the number who will is very low. Players don't give up guaranteed money just because the team fuck ed up their cap. LeBron did it. Brady did it, I think Payton did it, but they all have multi millions coming in from other sources. Sorry twist players with millions want more millions.

thats the thing though bruh .....

base salary isnt guaranteed .... and thats all you can restructure.... base salary

what you are talking about is playing for less money..... two different things.

Restructure .... you still get your money .... it just becomes guaranteed (and instead of getting it this year .... you get it in huge lumps in the future)

I really dont get your point ..... I dont

Cowboys have had the worst cap situation in football for 3 years running..... thats a fact thats not an opinion.

The only team close was the Redskins ... and that was because of a fine ... alot bigger fine than we had.

Cap strapped 8-8 for three straight years? Sky is falling? It already fell. Difference is Id like to come out of the 8-8 hole ...... some of yall fuckers seem to have become content with it ....
& we are in a better position going into next season than we have been the last couple of years. If I ranked our teams cap situation vs. the other 31 teams we would be in the bottom half. I agreee with that. But that isnt considered cap hell. Our cap is moving in the right direction (improving)
What is it for you to consider us not in cap hell? Be one of the top 5 teams on the cap? You are trying to make the argument 100% to one side or the other. Not being in a good or ideal spot with the cap doesnt make it cap hell. We have been in cap hell before, this is not that. That was my point when you tried to tell me I dont know shit about football.
So we are apparently gonna have to agree to disagree on what cap hell is.

I don't get that statement We will agree to disagree on that front. Aren't those basically our options as a fan regardless of the out look of your team. Accept where they are for better for worse or don't watch them or move on? What or the other options? I don't believe that was an absurd statement. That doesn't mean you don't love your team I think my point is very clear. What or the other categories I think that is a general overview on fandom I really don't see what I said that was so disagreeable. Of course think are debated and can be specifically broken down but it all generally falls under one of those 3 categories IMO.:suds:

As always Jarntt much respect, please expound on your opinion I don't see how this is a cop out or a point to be contested.

My point is that 99% of the time when someone's reponse in a discussion is "accept it or find a new team" it's because they really can't make a case that the other persons point is invalid. The whole idea of this board is to discuss the Dallas Cowboys and that includes the negatives. To act as if someone can't have a negative opinion on a topic without saying they should move on is kind of weak. To be honest I'm not really even talking about opinion on the subject. I'm talking about documented facts of what has occured. It's Math, not player evaluation or how many games we will win this year type of stuff.

"gang up on anyone that sees the cap for what it is DOES reek of the skins board"

To be honest I can't answer that question until things play out. On paper and reputation alone I would have to say no.

OK. If we had more cap space we would have kept him and we basically cut him because of our Cap problem. Does that not prove we have a problem with the cap?

without resigning ANYONE (Dez included) we are 7 million OVER the cap next year. IF and its a big IF we get the 10 million increase that is expected ..... we will have 3 million to sign ALL OF OUR FREE AGENTS

How is that not cap hell?
and how in the hell is that our cap becoming better?

once again we WILL restructure Romo

SO....you really think negative opinions about this team aren't shared by all with regards to the cowboys?

Selective reading if you do. It sure seems you boys have more of an issue with others not jumping in line with your stated opinions than the other way around. I'm SORRY BUT LACKING EVALUATIONS RATES HIGHER....the evaluations of the Ratliff, and Scandrick types messed that math up as much as anything

I'm good with the differing opinion jarntt. You remain a solid football opinion

you know this yet you keep pounding the doom outlook ANYWAYS....GOT IT

Yes. I also always try to differentiate between and also make it clear on whether I am talking about what I THINK should happen and what I think WILL happen. I don't see why that is a problem and actually I think it's a good thing for everyone to do. I always state my opinions. It's really the reason why I come here; to state mine and read others. And if someone brings up 50 threads on why we aren't having cap issues, I'll probably respond in 50 threads why we are.

I think you misunderstood something I wrote. I always felt we would restructure Romo multiple times and am not surprised at all

I think you guys need to read closer. I never said that or anything like it, so I'm not sure what you mean. I've never told anyone to find a new team because they disagreed with Jerry on something which is what was done in the post I was responding to. I was explaining why I thought his previous comment was off base because he asked me too I wasn't speaking about anyone else.

I also never said that the cap or restructures were a bigger problem than player evalautions (I don't think anyone did) so I'm not sure where that is coming from. But that isn't a discussion for this thread. I am basing my opinion on numbers and facts and I'm not getting any of that back in return so I keep trying to be clear what I am saying to see what the responses are and no one is addressing those points. You don't have to agree with them and I promise I won't be the one to say go find a new team or call you out for not agreeing. I've yet to see one reasonable explanation on why the restructures have been a good idea.

that is what manster is saying.
very few would restructure pushing back money this year for a roster bonus in the future, because they play for cheaper this year & gets cut, there is no guarenteed money. They simply played for less.
Most players not named kaep would be willing to do this.

Cap hell is when you have to trim 23-30 mil. off the cap to get to 3 mil to sign your FA. Cap hell is when the cap cripples your team.

Most teams restructure to sign/keep their quality players. It is what they do. Your version of "cap hell" would put what? 60-70% of the teams under that definition?

BTW look back the last couple years at where we had to start with the cap & look at the 3+ mil we would start at next year & explain to me how it isnt better?
Also next year I think we have just 5+ mil dead money. Which has been an improvement as well. Like I said. We simply arent gonna look at what we think of "cap hell" the same.
That doesnt mean I think we are doing great with the cap, doesnt mean I am not looking at the future, doesnt mean I am a this year or bust fan or any of the other silly shit you clump everyone that disagrees with you about.
It means we disagree on the meaning "cap hell" :suds:

We are far from crippled.
