idk what PM's cap hit was this past season, but imo DEN had enough talent on both sides of the ball to win it all. They simply did not perform well vs IND and that imo was largely why Fox was run.
To your point...it's proven that to be a consistent playoff caliber team, you need a good QB. If DEN goes with Osweiler, not saying it will happen, but the fan base has to be prepared to be 8 to 10 win type team '15 and let him grow into the position. That might be a little tough to take after 3 yrs of PM, but it could be the right move long term.
You are right this team was loaded enough to make a nice run at the championship. I will say the one area that we failed big time though was the OL and in the end it is what cost us big time. The team gambled that we did not really need to update with the hopes of somebody stepping up that was an unknown and it didn't happen. This past year was definitely the Broncos best shot in most of our top young players were still on rookie deals that were having them ridiculously underpaid. This next year though with so many of our top players needing new contracts I don't think we have that luxury as much this season. That is why I am a little more torn this year compared to last in we are going to have to let some talent walk and I am not sure unless we either work some more magic with the Cap or just draft out of our minds that this team in the upcoming season will be as talented as last years. Now we might be better just because we updated the coaching staff and that alone could make the difference but I have reached a point that I am almost ready to just see what we have with Osweiler and live with the consequences. I understand expectations have to be lowered in that situation and that probably won't be easy after 3 straight years of being a top team in the league but long-term sometimes you have to take a step back to take 3 steps forward.
