DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings coach Mike Babcock usually doesn't change his lineup after a win.

However, defenseman Jakub Kindl will be a healthy scratch when Detroit plays the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday at Joe Louis Arena.

Kindl didn't play the last half of the Red Wings' 4-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday.

Brian Lashoff, who has been a healthy scratch for most of the season, will replace Kindl against Montreal.

"He's scratched [Sunday]," was all Babcock would say about Kindl.

Kindl has been scratched in the past for not competing hard enough and committing turnovers. He scored power-play goals in successive games Nov. 5-7 to ignite Detroit's then-struggling power play but has one shot on goal in two games since then. He has four points and a plus-2 rating in 16 games this season.


We may not be seeing much more of Kindl.

Lions have just lost. We got hosed on two key first down spots but the better team probably won.

Luckily, this game will have better officiating than the football game. I just know it. The NHL has a history of good, solid officiating. Especially this year. Nothing escapes their eagle eyes.
