to be announced at 10 am Pacific time. Leafs have already announced that they won't be releasing Morgan Rielly for the tourney. I wonder if the Avs will release MacKinnon (probably not likely either).

TSNBobMcKenzie: As usual, tho, list has already leaked out. Notable news: MIN has loaned defenceman Mat Dumba to Team Canada. He's the only NHLer on list.

Yup, and who knows, this could be the last Olympics with NHL players participating (doesn't seem to be a lot of interest to go to Korea in 2018).

I really hope it's not.

I love watching Team USA and Canada, with those loaded rosters. Love seeing Toews and Crosby on the same team, Kane and Kesler. Keith and Weber. The skill in Olympic Hockey is unbelievable.

Darnell Nurse and Max Domi are two surprises for me (also I thought Gaunce might get a camp invite as well).

Kerby Rychel is 6'1" and 205? Didn't look that big in camp.

Connor McDavid...born in '97. I'm young, so when I start having memories of the year you were born, I feel old.

Surprised Poirier didn't make it over guys like Petan and Shinkaruk.

I also thought that Nurse would make this team.

Any chance Butter is sticking it to the Flames by leaving Poirier off the team?

/I don't really think so, but there could be some bitterness there.

The more I think about the more I would have Nurse on the team, even as an extra defenseman.

He's still eligible next year (as are 11 guys on this roster). Having that experience would make him a beast next year, IMO. I sometimes feel like Team Canada's planning is geared too heavily towards the short term.

Just a general question (but I don't think it's worthy of a poll). Obviously, I think people are interested in watching their NHL teams prospects and how they perform at the tourney, but that shouldn't supplant cheering for your country, should it? As an example, Flames goalie prospect Jon Gillies could win the States goalie starting role, but when they play Canada, I'm cheering for Canada (but I also hope Gillies has a strong game between the pipes). If Calgarypuck is any indication, some Flames fans (who I think are Canadian) will be cheering for Gillies and Team USA (which I find strange).

I love seeing the Sens prospects do well for whatever country but I will always cheer for Team Canada up until the second they are eliminated from the tournament.
