2014 Bahamas Bowl - CMU vs WKU

WKU led 49-14 heading into 4th and WKU rallied. Instead of kicking game tying FG to force OT, they went for 2 and failed.

It could just be that I always thought of it that way. But as in so many things in life, my vote doesn't count for much . . .
I will never, EVER forget that game.

When AD ran that opening 3rd quarter kickoff return back for a TD, I felt something very strange was gonna happen. It did.

Yeah - that one is hard to forget. Like I said, it was my first football game. I sat in row 13 over in the corner of the Colosseum by the tunnel. The seats were low enough that you couldn't really see the far corner of the field because of the crown down the middle of the field. Also, when that stupid horse came running out in the 3rd quarter, some asshole behind me throw a beer bottle at ol' Tommy Trojan riding on Traveler.

I've seen a lot of bad and even demoralizing losses for Notre Dame (and Tulane . . and San Jose State . . ) but none were as bad as that debacle in 1974.

Looking it up, Anthony Davis had 2 big games.

1972 was the one where he scored 6 touchdowns and had a 96-yard kick return for TD.
1974 was the one where he scored 26 points. He had a 102-yard kick return for TD.

11/17/2007: University of Louisiana at Monroe entered Tuscaloosa with a 4-6 record. The Warhawks were one of only two teams to lose to North Texas that season, and ULM had previously lost by 23 points to Clemson and 40 points to Texas A&M. This day they beat Alabama 21-14.

Apparently 2007 was a bad year for upsets--in that same year, Michigan was upset by Appalachian State.

October 2, 2004 - San Jose State beat Rice 70-63, with the combination of the two teams setting several records, including most points scored in regulation. That record has since been been surpassed, but ti was retty spectacular at the time. Fewer than 5000 fans were in attendance to see the wild affair.

I think you can actually get expelled from Notre Dame for speaking his name.

September 12, 1970 USC vs. Alabama - USC becomes the first fully integrated team to play in the state of Alabama. Some of the "legends" around that game are myths, but not that part.

That along with the comeback Byron Leftwhich mounted in the bowl game the previous season made him one of my favorite college football players all-time.

That is just awful ball control by both teams, combining for 11 turnovers in one game. Is that an NCAA record?

October 25 1997 Michigan vs Michigan State - MSU QB Todd Schultz is under pressure and throws the ball away out of bounds. Or tries to. Charles Woodson jumps up and intercepts it one handed and getting one foot inbounds. The single signature play of the only defensive player to ever win the Heisman.

Lols Oly...I had no idea about the stats of the game, but knew I could get you to find them IF I threw out a bogus Beaver stat on that game. Congratz, you (UO) win.

Hard to believe UO only had 3 penalties in that game.

Oklahoma-Texas, October 6, 2001: With 2:06 left in the game, Texas had to march 97 yards for the winning score. Roy Williams blitzes and dives over Texas defender to hit Chris Simms as he was releasing the ball. The ball landed right in Teddy Lehman's hands for the game-sealing touchdown.

Just for shits and giggles, Iowa State-Texas Tech, October 12, 2002. Seneca Wallace's ridiculous "11-yard run." Also probably the last time you'll ever see Iowa State ranked that high in your lifetime. :dhd:
