I really don't think Kobe has been the best player in the NBA for a few years, so I don't see how he could be the best after a season ending injury like that when you consider that most players take atleast a year to completely recover. This season is really washed out in the terms of championship possibilities without a second elite player that is healthy and capable and Pau Gasol is neither. Next season if Kobe will take a huge cut, then the Lakers can rebuild with him in the mix and be contenders. But no - Kobe cannot be the best

I would be the last person to defend Kobe Bryant for doping since I don't know what goes on in his house or life, but for all we know every single player in the NBA including Klay Thompson on the Warriors could be doping if it's as easy as you indicate. In fact it's guaranteed that every player on the Warriors, the Miami Heat, and the rest of the teams that they are proven dope users just like Kobe Bryant.

Whether it was scoring 81 points or dishing out 14 assists like Kobe did often last year, Kobe did whatever was necessary to win. He took a terrible, injured team last year to the playoffs. A team that had no chance of making the playoffs till Kobe decided to guarantee a playoff birth. In fact, many people felt that had Kobe not gotten injured, a healthy Laker team was the favorite to win it all. And I have to agree.

..That Lakers team over a healthy at the time almost historically great regular season Thunder team and a Spurs team that looked almost unbeatable unless they ran into a buzzsaw of young team like the Nuggets/Warriors/Thunder?

If you think that every one is using then the Heat would not have had any unfair advantage so why is that why they won?
