It's strictly a rental at this point. He's a $2.5-3M player with a $1.8M price tag this season. He'll have the opportunity to boost his value as a #1 RB. Henderson hasn't shown blocking or receiving skills in his 2 pro years and he hasn't stayed healthy either. The other Rams RBs have very low ceilings. RB will be a Draft need for the Rams in 2022, but then it should have been in 2021. I don't think anyone knows if Akers will ever be 100% again.

ACL tear is hard to come back from, I agree the Rams will readdress the running back position next draft. It sucks for Akers, it was showing his potential in the postseason and proving he can be an every down starting back in this league.

The knock is two picks for an injury bug rental. Hope he stays healthy for you. His blocking is suspect, but most times at least he'll get his body in the way.
That is what might not keep him around, everyone blocks on this team and needs to do it effectively.

Is this a first? This has to be a first. Player tears ACL in training camp and returns the same year.

I remember last year when Brandon Brooks tore his achilles in June it was heavily rumored all season long that he was aiming to come back and would be ready to come back late in the season but of course the Eagles fucking sucked last year so there was no point for him to come back when we were well out of it.

Seems like an unnecessary risk to me.

Michel and Henderson are a pretty solid 1-2 punch.

Give Akers a full off season to continue his recovery and start 2022 fully healthy.
My first thoughts as well. Their running game is doing just fine

I'm inclined to agree. Achilles are probably tougher to come back from than ACLs are. I think even the numbers would play that out.

He looked GOOD yesterday. Michael has been solid for them. But you can see Cam is just a different sort of beast.

The Rams have made do with 2 back-up RBs all season. A healthy Akers is a huge plus. I hope for his sake he stays healthy.
