Now that T. Boone has passed away....

BYU...aren't there are quite a few wealthy Mormans?

Endowments are one thing. But the ability of an AD to make an "ante up phone call" in a moments notice is a source of income that doesn't show up anywhere on the balance sheet.

Example: I was shocked at how quickly the Texas Tech AD was able to get enough money committed from boosters that would keep Beard at Tech after March Madness. Tech isn't known as a "big money" school...but Hocutt came up with the cash very, very quickly. Talked to one of our resident Red Raider donors after it was reported Beard was staying. The donor claims they had the money committed within 24 hours of Hocutt's first phone call. All second hand info but this guy owns a drilling company and does give quite a bit of money to Tech every year.

Stanford would win the alumni donor argument — they rank 2nd with 70 graduates who have went on to become billionaires. Harvard is number 1 with 188.

Michigan is in the 8th with 27 with Google Co-Founder Larry Page leading the way with 51.5 Billion.

Take the biggest state out of the NCAA and you still believe that sponsors will be willing to pay the same amount?

Also, LOL again at you not knowing you can pick up TV stations without cable/satellite/internet.

Michigan has one of the largest endowments in the country totaling just under $12 billion dollars.

Irrelevant to the NY proposal as all athletes would be paid by the school.

You think millions of people are watching D3 football teams play each week? The amount of P5 1-A teams does matter when talking about corporate sponsors.

You are conflating the NY bill with the California bill.

The California bill allows for athletes to earn money off of their likeness.

The NY bill also requires athletes to be given a percentage of the athletic department revenues.

Also, let's be honest. If both measures become law, other states will follow.

Look up the definition of a satellite then talk shit.

Definition of satellite

1: a hired agent or obsequious follower : MINION, SYCOPHANT
2a: a celestial body orbiting another of larger size
b: a manufactured object or vehicle intended to orbit the earth, the moon, or another celestial body
3: someone or something attendant, subordinate, or dependentespecially : a country politically and economically dominated or controlled by another more powerful country
4: a usually independent urban community situated near but not immediately adjacent to a large city

Feel free to show where an antenna that picks up the free, over-the-air stations is a satellite.

Is that after athletic department total expenses are subtratcted from the revenue totals? If it is "net", then the athletes will be making payments TO the university instead of receiving one FROM the university. Most athletic departments don't operate in the black.
