Agreed. That would have been a very nice secondary. It was nice thinking about for a half a day. I'm not sure how big an upgrade Cooks will be for us. It's not like we don't have a nice group of receivers as it is.

I don't think they need to do anything on the offense. I think even with Bennett and Blount gone, the offense will be better next year. I think they still have work to do on that defensive line even with Branch coming back.

Pats also can't get so lucky two years in a row where they don't have to face a quality QB until the conference championship/Super Bowl. Barring injury, they'll see Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, Drew Brees, Derek Carr, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, and Jameis Winston (which means covering Jackson and Evans).

Not to mention, potentially playing Jay Cutler TWICE!

Not mentioned here is that Edelman and Amendola are getting old and take a lot of hits. The Pats are getting ahead of the inevitable when Edelman especially hits that wall.

Mitchell, Cooks and Hogan is a good insurance policy.

The Pats are always proactive with this, looking out a year or two. That's how you do it over 17 years with no real down seasons.

I just hope he works out better than Chandler did. I thought for sure he'd flourish. And like with Gilmore today, Bill B knew the guy from 2 games a year.
