The biggest reason CLE is coming out of the East is story lines. LBJ does the whole coming home and is humble yada yada BS that owners like so the refs will be instructed to make them get through. DRose's honesty and commitment to his own well being rather than a corporation's really doesn't bode well for their ref sway either.


Ignore that KLove, Kyrie and LBJ all in their primes are not losing a 7 game series to Gasol, Noah and Glass Roses even if Rose got 3 wishes to be be invincible and CLE started the season in the ECF. Not to mention Thompson has been a fucking beast. They have a Big 3.5 and CHI has a really old 2.25.


All that being said ATL should be a top 5 team in the East this year and they got dismantled by a team that showed what they might look like. Their ceiling looks a lot more like the 90s Bulls teams than anything we have seen since those teams.

Their offense is fine. The defense is a concern.

First time allowing under 100 since opening night....

You don't win games in the playoffs allowing over 100 because you're not going to be scoring 110 PPG in the playoffs.

Tonight they were just hot. You can't count on a team to shoot 54% and make 19 3's every night.

Every solid team will have a few games like this where everything goes right for them and they beat up their opponent.

it wasnt so much the 3s as coming out flinging them right away as the game plan. If teams have to prepare for those 3 taking those 3s the game is already won by CLE.

Kyrie, Klove and LBJ might shoot 50% from 3p unguarded and in the beginning of the game all 3 of those players are a lot more likely to get space. LBJ and Kyrie are both drive and kick and Klove works his way outward through out the game, normally. If teams can not predict that they are impossible to guard.

I agree playing inside out is better, but outside in is not the worst way to go when you have Thompson who has been a rebounding monster and then Klove when he isnt the flinger.

Also, it is very early but CLE is 2nd in ppg but their pace is 22nd. They could come out of the finals playing the D they have played, beat a Western team in 7...they will probably need to play the D they played tonight.
