I'm talking about the lack of a false start on the first down to Bell. There is no way in hell that call was good. If you can watch that play with a straight face and tell me that wasn't a penalty, you are a liar. I think even MSU fans would acknowledge that.

I'm not crying or whining. We lost the game. MSU played well, and found that minor hole in our team to exploit (punt/kick protection). They fully deserve the win. That doesn't mean that I can't bring up the circumstances of the loss (namely the Ball injury and the no call penalty). Stuff happens and I get that, but if you're going to condemn a coach for a decision or a team for a loss you need to acknowledge some details surrounding it.

Again, props to MSU. I really hope we get the chance to play you in Indianapolis. Life goes on, and we still have a damn good team. Now, we just have a damn good team that happened to lose in a damn good game.

Penalties are missed. Get over it. Your inability to stop a hail marry lost you that game. You inability to stop them on 3rd downs lost you the game. Quit whining about the no call.

It wasn't a great decision, but it very nearly won us the game. Bielema made the assumption that our defense could make a stop, and due to a bad call, we'll never know if he was right. I hate to continue to hark on a penalty in a game that good, but I don't think one can blame Bielema for making that call without at least adding an asterisk there.

Pray tell how calling timeouts on D very nearly won y'all the game????? Even if the penalty is called and a punt comes, you are 30 yards away from field goal range with no timeouts and 20 seconds on the clock......Yeah, that fucking close to winning....

Considering Russell's mobility, and his ability to create time to make a play, I don't think it is a stretch to say we'd have gotten a good chance of a 20-25 yard play towards the sidelines. I don't know if you are familiar with Philip Welch, but he can make kicks from 55-60 yard with incredibly consistency. I've literally seen him make five 60 yarders in a row in warmups. We'll never know what would have happened.

I'm just basically saying that I don't think the comdemnation of that move by Bret is fair. He trusted his defense, and we'll never know is that trust was misguided.
