I saw him signing autographs for money at the Town and Country 49ers store. He gave a lady grief for thinking he was signing for free, it was pretty funny and awkward. No I wasn't there to get his autograph.

I guess you have to prosecute them all and it's more of a necessity when the guy didn't file at all, versus a bit of shaving here and there, but there are people who make a lot more than that that are not properly paying their taxes, I would have to assume. But the fact that he didn't file at all, that's a big enough concern for their resources. Not saying a little is nothing, just saying that you can't catch them all, so fish for the big fish. But if they caught it incidentally, why not go get it?

Maybe Bubba didn't pay taxes for the $20 I gave him for an autograph many years ago at a Wal-Mart. Yes, I realize now that this was a poor investment. I was a teenager and I was just thrilled to shake the hand and exchange a few words with a former Niner.

I worked for a bankruptcy attorney back in high school.....and we handled Bubba's Chapter 13 filing, this was probably about 1994. Been tough times for a loooong time I suppose.

I think that was around the time I got his autograph.

$20 for a chat and good memory? Well worth it, IMO.

I guess I was thinking more about the value of the autographed picture. I haven't looked it up, but I doubt it's worth much. You're right, though, it was really cool meeting Bubba Paris. He is as gregarious in person as he is on tv.

Do you recall if he was wearing his rings?

Man, I hope he wasn't trying to live in Clalifornia on those yearly earnings. He must be living in a manhole.

That was the first thing that came to mind when I read the title of the thread. Those Walmart isn't just full of under-cover security; under-cover IRS agents are all over too. :)

Palo Alto. They tore the one down in SJ and built Santana Row.

Thanks - Now that you mention it, I do seem to recall seeing a bunch of scaffolding surrounding the T&C Villiage in SJ? I thought is was due to a fire.

I still own 49er garb I purchased in the SJ T&C 49ers Store years ago.
