holmgren sure likes the "trade for rights" tactic when signing a free agent. i guess it worked for kimmo and hartnell. but you sure have to trust the guy will sign. but it really hurts to bleed off players and pics. having said that we didn't give up all that much with players. the only thing i can say is the conditional pick had better be a late rounder....

i've noticed over the decades that philly is treated like a cash cow all the time. gm's and players always enter into negotiations with us as if they all have the upper hand. just once i'd like to walk out at the last minute and leave some guy hanging. make him go play for columbus or the wild for a while. it's the "used car sale" delimma. if you aren't willing to walk away at any time, then the used car salesman has you right where he wants you.

well i was responding to a quote that says we "stole" a pick from pitt. maybe i should have said we broke even, this isnt the NFL, 3rd round picks aren't much more valuable than anything below it.

Anyway,he states that Bryzgalov wants in excess of the 4.5 million he made last year.It states he is asking for a 5 year deal for 30-32 million.

Holmgren is going to have a hell of a task,trying to get this done.

The Flyers were gonna get left with their Dick in their hands, but Homer pulled a quick 1 and basically stole a 3rd from Pitt, and in the end yes they broke even, but Pitt at least lost a 3rd right.
