Does anybody really believe Dusty anymore when he makes these comments?

Jonathan Broxton throws 20 pitches in batting practice
-- CBSSports.com
Reds pitcher Jonathan Broxton threw 20 pitches in a live batting-practice session Saturday and reported no issues with his injured elbow, MLB.com reports.

"He was throwing the ball good," manager Dusty Baker told MLB.com. "He didn't quite have the command. That's to be expected, as long as there is no pain. That means he's on the way."

Broxton, who is 2-2 with a 4.33 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB ratio in 27 innings, hasn't pitched since June 13 due to an elbow strain.

What does that mean? Lets rationalize that statement. Ok, I am throwing the ball good but I cant throw strikes. So, Am I really throwing the ball good? DustMop is a complete and total idiot running a great ball club completely into the ground. Fire this retard immediately for the sake of humanity. Dustmop is an insult to any fan with an ounce of intelligence.

How'd they hit him Dusty ? I'm suprized the Reds batting practice isn't a no hitter once on a while.

A no hitter in batting practice! Now that makes me laugh. But it's probably true, and that's sad.

Unless Broxton can drive in 2 runs in the 5th inning, I don't see a need to even keep him.

He hasn't been right this year. How much did the reversal of roles factor in ? He was signed to close, and Chapman was going to solve the missing dominant playoff worthy LHSP...then again, nope. Chapman closes, and we need Manny Parra instead ? I don't follow that kind of last minute low consideration if downstream impact, compromise before the season starts, wasting closer cash on a guy that isn't going to close, and it doesn't even consider Marshall, Cingrani, etc. Thank God we have pitching depth, but I don't think roles are salads, in the lineup or rotation. There are entities making decisions for the Reds that disagree. What we see is what we get.

On the other hand, if Chapman had started in the rotation, and Cueto, Broxton and Marshall were hurt, Chapman could have went back to the pen with little effort, Leake and Cingrani could have went back to the rotation with little effort, and we'd be where we are now. If those were knows in ST, why the mystery ? I think it looks disjointed like Walt and Dusty weren't on the same page. LF has been another Bafoon platoon, alternating regardless of performance. The 2 hole is one .230 hitter after another. No steals. No bunts. Bad situational D, horrible baserunning and worse base coaching. Bad plate philosophy. Excuses.

I don't mean to sound unappreciative. We could be Brewers, looking forward to getting a $10 concession voucher to watch the team flounder. We could have Wayne Krivsky trading Jay Bruce and Cozart for middle relievers. We could have Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey Jr. turning flyball a into singles and posing at the plate turning doubles off the wall into singles. It could be worse.

It HAS been worse. In 2011, it was worse.

This team is a tad better than that one mainly because the bullpen is better.
