Hmmm interesting
Whew!! (If true) glad we missed out on this over reach!
The numbers were always heading that direction which is why ATL said it was good knowing but we can't afford that early on.
Good player, meaning he will make the routine catch pretty consistently, blocks okay for the position, but he's not a man beater, nor is he a seam buster.
Maybe more reliable than Njoku, but $10 mil+ per...idk about that one.
Njoku for TW at this point, we need TW gone
Njoku isn't going anywhere and still on his rookie deal. Stefanski loves 2 TE sets.
Browns also unlikely to go after a LT in FA or trade since they got their RT target. They most likely use their 1st on a LT with 4 nice targets.
Agreed. Skins posters are infatuated with Njoku for some reason. It makes no sense for CLE to do this.
I'm not sure that it's an infatuation with him or some sort of group desperation think. People here want what they believe to be best for our team. Getting Njoku and a draft pick fills that desperate need and it doesn't matter if a transaction like that is reasonable for the other side.
I am not sure how it doesn’t make sense for Cleveland. Njoku is in the final season of his rookie contract and has done nothing to warrant them going with the fifth year option. They are in need of a LT and seem to be making a big push this offseason. TW is a perennial AP, or has been, and of course warrants a second and a lesser player if that is what it takes, if Cleveland can extend and accept the terms of TW employment.
Like the CLE poster said, they run 2 TE sets and I think they know more about their team than we do. They have spent a ton of money today and they have their sites locked in on a LT with their 1st round pick. Its absurd to give a high draft pick and then pay TW 20 million when your 1st rounder will address that need.

You are arguing with the wrong person Gkekoa, the CLE fan said they "don't want to trade Njoku and they are targeting a LT with their 1st pick". If that is the case, and I am taking the CLE fan's word over yours as its his team, then yes, it literally makes no sense for them to trade us.
Shanemansj, do you care to respond and clarify?
If Njoku has done nothing to warrant a 5th year option, why would we trade for him?
I agree, TW made it worse when he said he would not play here.

Nothing is set and stone but it seems like the logical plan and what every Browns fan is thinking as well as pretty much every mock out there. Why trade for a 32 yo LT and give up a great pick when you can build a young team with your 1st round pick and grab a LT?
Yeah if they traded Njoku and a high pick, guessing a 1st, (the Skins GM turned down a 2nd week after week)that move makes zero sense considering there are 4 LT targets in the 1st they can go after and very good ones.
Also, the 5th year option doesn't really matter bc Njoku doesn't have much value at this point so if they don't pick it up they will most likely let him walk, especially if he doesn't produce this year.
Because he is a perennial AP and is likely going to be better than the draft pick. That draft pick can then be us3d on a different position of need.
Why does it make no sense? You just paid Hooper 11 million per season and Njoku is under contract for only one more season, while not proving he even belongs in the league. The fifth year option is valuable, just not to your team. It is an added bonus for your trade partner. The fifth year option would have to be exercised prior to this season, something the Browns won’t do with their recent acquisition of Hooper. Njoku could be an added piece to allow a trade and not lose your first, maybe he can even drop the ask to a third.
