They absolutely can, they just take the cap hit similar to what the Broncos did with RW.
But it's not similar as the cap hit is massive. Far more than what Denver had to deal with. Might be wrong but think in excess of $75 mil. Maye even $100 mil. And unlike Denver we already have an expensive roster.

If they don't release Watson (and I think they will) start him the first 2-3 games next season (keep him on a short leash) and if he sucks.....pull him and start Winston (assuming they bring him back) the rest of the season.

Send Watson home and release him after next season (when the cap hit isn't as bad if they released him this coming offseason).

You clearly do not know what you are talking about.

Haven't been able to figure out what the fuck is wrong with Watson....he's too young to really be washed up at his age.....maybe the drama and shit took it all out of him? I don't know.
It's that and/or the injuries I think.

If the Browns want to give Watson one last chance next season.....they need to try and adjust their offense to the offense he had with the Texans and see if that could help.
Kind of what Dorsey was supposed to do.....but really the only time the guy had any success here was last year in Stefanski's O.

Why would they do that? They see what they have in Winston and that seems to be what they need. He plays hard, the other players are playing hard with him and he's one of the guys. I don't think Watson is one of the guys, nor do the other players see him as such.
I think this is true.....what's funny is when we acquired him I think guys wanted to come and play with him

The Browns are a completely different team with him at QB that’s for damn sure
Pretty much been a different team with anyone other than 2024 Watson playing QB. Hell, they were a top 10 scoring O with Jacoby Brissett and even got a good game or 2 out of PJ Walker.

After a short burst of excitement Denver is back to a frustratingly anemic Offense.

Usually when the Offense struggles the Defense carries the load a little bit but tonight the Defense has been abysmal and the Offense has been so hot and cold.
Thought much better once they got that running game going with the RB whose name escapes me. Maybe it's time to stick with him much more?

Wow that is an amazing stat shown for both teams, the streaks for not having a 100 yard rusher.
Kind of surprised by Denver as in past been known to cycle in top RBs. The Browns? Not a surprise since Chubb missed or was just coming back in most of the games.

They could’ve taken a big step forward tonight to show that they’re a contender but the defense is completely different than any other game this season(even against Baltimore) and the offense is so hot and cold they can’t string anything together.
They aren't a contender........and should not expect to be with a mid first round rookie QB. But far more impressive than most predicted I would think.

Yep

If nothing else it was entertaining. The Browns are a clown show this year anyway. But they've delivered the last 2 weeks in drama.
Yes....very entertaining and fun to watch. I'm sure I'd think otherwise if we needed a W.

Are there any of those left?

The only course forward is releasing Deshaun. He is toxic on the field, off the field, and is a shitty human being.

150 million fucking sucks but so does wasting the prime of the rest of your team.
Then send him home.....don't release him and pay him to play for someone else. And of course since we are the Browns figure it out and likely beat us.

Flacco is very similar but he led them to the playoffs....

Winston could do the same next season if they went with him and released Watson.
Flacco led us to playoffs because Watson was 4-1 instead of a complete disaster. Flacco also went up against a really weak schedule. But, sure, for a full season maybe Winston could get to playoffs.

Cool....then give me the correct numbers as these are the ones think I have seen.

Not too far off was I?

You can't keep track of a convo.....like at all. It's why you annoy people in the NBA Off Topic thread when you go off on one of your tangents.....

I said RW's and Watson's cap hits would be similar.....you said no they wouldn't. The RW dead cap hit for Denver was 85 million.....

They should go with Winston despite his picks. As I said, he can push the ball down the field. His flaw is the picks.

Exactly this. Release him. Don't know how he'll even play with his injury.

If they keep him it's a 73 million cap hit (unless they redo the contract) cost 100 million to cut him.Talk about crazy either way.

Not sure if they can spread it out longer but i think 3 years is the max.
