This team never has me confident, it seems like depending on the week we could blow out the best of them, or get crushed by the worst of them. Of course I'm expecting us to dominate the Chargers but I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if we choked and blew our chances when it counts, because we do that a lot.

We haven't done that as much this year though. I mean in the biggest games of the year against the Chiefs TNF, Patriots SNF, Bengals MNF we have found a way to win. We have put up a few stinkers this year no denying that but at least a couple of those were during our transition time. Manning was playing hurt and his arm was nowhere close to being football ready. This to me is where the coaches made their biggest mistakes of the year in allowing Manning to convince them that he was good enough to go out and win games. To me that cost us the Colts game and possibly the Chiefs game.

I am with you though in while I say I feel more confident in us winning the game after looking at the Chargers injuries and honestly the utter chaos of the whole team with not knowing the city or who the head coach will be next year looming that doesn't mean I won't be nervous until I know the victory has been secured. I look at a team that has nothing to lose so they can go out and do whatever and if they screw up then hey they were supposed to lose but a couple of those trick plays work and boom we have an upset. I also look at Philip Rivers being one of the most competitive players in the entire league. He would love nothing more than to upset us on the final week hurting our chances at a Super Bowl. I look at Antonio Gates not knowing his future with the team and wanting one final victory with the Chargers. I look at McCoy and he has historically given us trouble since he went to San Diego. So lots of negatives and positives work for and against.

I hear what Duffman is saying - a characteristic of this team this year has been to play to the level of the competition. We can complain about the previous staff's inability to win big games, but they seldom lost to teams they were supposed to beat. That's why I'm a bit nervous about today.

George you are nervous about each game the Broncos play. I go back and forth on this game - in terms of competitiveness. If the Broncos let the Chargers hang in there - it means trouble - if they break their will early - it could be a rout.

And this team, which has won 9/11 games in nail biting fashion, doesn't make you nervous? I'm glad I have a good ticker.

If we get a couple picks off of Rivers, we could win by 10 or more - otherwise it will be another close one.

If Denver is serious about going deep into playoffs or SB, they better whip the crap out of a SD team that is riddled with injuries and just flat out done for the year. Denver has a lot on the line here and it's not just the W. They need to show up and build confidence and momentum for playoffs. I know I won't feel good about their chances if they just squeak by SD and look mediocre doing it. By all accounts they should be fired up and win this game handily. Especially if before kick off NE loses to Miami!!!. No excuses in this one. Get that train rolling the right way and it starts with an ass-whipping on a team that is not very good period. You can settle, but I won't.:)
The main thing is to get the win. How we do it is immaterial to how we perform in the playoffs. Last year, we demolished the Raiders end route to the playoffs.

We get the win, we get the division and a bye week. If we take care of the business at hand, that will be all that's required.

No, that doesn't make me nervous because they pull so many games out. What you rather have in a close playoff game - a team that is familiar with emotions and are confident closers - or a team that has never been challenged throughout the season - experiencing a close game for the first time? Those guys who expect to win close games - win close games. You play with the attitude - that something is going to come up and when it does - you don't flub it - you are ready for it. I take you to the Tim Tebow run - for instance - that win streak was so improbable - it managed to look miraculous. Was it Tim Tebow's talent? Was it Otherworldly assistance? Or, was it a team that grew to expect to win close games - which sharpened their focus on making big plays? This Bronco's team is much better than that Tebow edition - that makes me feel optimistic.

This is my thought as well. I don't care if it's a one point win or a total destruction of the Chargers. The Broncos won 47-14 against a hapless Raiders team and they didn't get to carry over any of those points into the playoffs. They won't be able to do so this year either, so really the only thing that matters is the win and a 12-4 finish.

Like I said, pick your poison. I'd much rather have them enter playoffs with a resounding win. Momentum and confidence, especially for Oz. You mention Raider game.Ok, how many times has Denver looked bad at end of season and gotten but kicked in 1st rd also.. Common sense and pretty much every player and coach says you want to be playing your best ball heading into playoffs. Can't say I've heard many of them say.." we don't care how we play, as long as we win". Yeah shit does happen regardless but you worry about that next game

I've just seen this team come out too many times and not give a shit and play like crap and that's what has me worried. Denver plays well when everyone expects them to lose but when they're actually favored to win they play like they believe they're own hype and choke.

Game matters and Denver's choking it away, I wish I could say I'm surprised by I've come to expect it.

Until they put Manning in they were doing exactly that. There is nothing about 5 turnovers and 7 points against a 4 win team that doesn't scream choke job.

There was no way in hell we should have needed a miraculous comeback from off the bench victory from 39 year old Peyton Manning against a team with 4 wins, terrible defense, and 85% of their starters injured.

Yeah - I watched the game - couldn't resist the kick in the crotch - my take on these Broncos is they do what it takes to win. They still haven't put together an entire game - let's not forget that the Pats choked also, but lost.

Still says a lot that as a team Denver overcame 5 turnovers to still win the game. 95% of the time that equates to a loss.

Now we get two weeks to work out how we attack the playoffs. Road to the Super Bowl still travels through Denver.

And by all rights, we should have went up 14-3 in the first quarter. That fluke fumble by Sanders likely changes the whole complexion of this game.

Agreed 100% and lucky it was the Chargers they were playing because anyone that is a playoff team it would have not been the ending that happened in the Broncos favor today and us fans wanted.
