Good list, but I see Sanchez in the 18/20 range.

I don't really think a backup should be considered a top 20 QB. If he ends up starting in Denver (ugh, got nauseous just typing that) it's because there aren't better options for the Broncos come week 1, not because Sanchez is one of the best 20 QBs in the NFL.

Fair enough.

On the plus side, Denver has already had a QB where they were afraid if he threw the ball, so they know what they're dealing with. Still even with half an arm, Manning was better than the Sanchize.

I personally see Sanchez as a perfect "situational" QB...He was with the Jets for a few years and you never know, he might work out with Denver in the same way...If he HAS to be the QB, I guarantee that Kubiak knows how to use him, which is why they traded for him...Just my opinion of course :suds:

No particular order:
1. Brady
2. Rodgers
3. Luck
4. R. Wilson
5. Roethlisberger
6. Bradford
7. Romo
8. Dalton
9. Ryan
10. Winston
11. E. Manning
12. Palmer
13. Ty Taylor
14. Newton
15. Cutler
16. Stafford
17. A. Smith
18. Tannehill
19. Bridgewater
20. Brees
21. Fitzpatrick
22. Derek Carr
23. Rivers
24. Cousins
25. M. Moore
26. Osweiler
27. Garoppolo
28. Flacco
29. Kaepernick

Guys near Sanchez ability, but argument could be made for better than:
  • Henne
  • Bortles
  • K. Moore
  • Glennon
  • McCoy
  • Gabbert
  • RG3
  • D. Anderson
  • Foles
  • Schaub
  • G. Smith
  • S. Hill
  • Hoyer
  • Vick
  • Stanton
  • McCown
  • Manuel
  • Cassel
  • Davis
Don't know enough, but probably better than Sanchez:
  • Siemian
  • Phil Sims
  • Daniel
  • Savage
  • Mariota
  • Tolzien
  • Hundley
  • L. Jones

Sanchez better than:

  • Whitehurst
  • Barkley
  • Webb
  • Clemens
  • M. Simms
  • Thad Lewis
  • Orlovsky
  • Mallett
  • Nassib
  • Mettenberger
Phil Sims? Lol

Anyone that thinks Sanchez can play didn't watch the Lions and Bucs games last year. Take a look at the defensive side of the ball, especially. Notice how much faith they had in the QB that was starting those 2 games (hint: 90 points against).

Phil Sims? Lol

He's on the Seahawks. Saw him play in the preseason. Was thinking you can't be a QB named Phil Sims, yet there he was, plain as day. Don't know if he's named after the CBS guy or not, just know he's in the NFL. And probably as good as the Sanchize.

So why in the hell were you arguing with me a couple weeks ago when the Eagles extended Bradford?

Because overpaying for an average QB is a very quick way to being at best just an average team. You don't have the cap space to spend to surround the guy with talent so you then need to rely on an average player to play beyond his ability. The Broncos this year were fortunate that they were able to put together one of the greatest defenses in NFL history. If you only have an average QB you have to be great elsewhere if you want to win a Super Bowl.

Are people really not accepting Sanchez as an upgrade over Manning?

Peyt was prolly the worst starter in the league last year. Didn't matter. But the mass exodus will matter this year. Just not the QB portion, imo.

Sanchez was 37th out of 38 starters in QBR. Even if he is better, he doesn't meaningfully move the needle. It's still a big turd at the QB position, regardless. I would argue much the same for Kaepernick.

Kaep blows.

He'll be perfect for Cleveland. Till they decide to draft some other guy in a year, who will also blow.

Manning was 38? Or did he not qualify?

Absolutely... They want to upgrade to a solid starter, or player with potential to be that. Peyton probably was the worst starter in the league last year. His QBR was one of the lowest. Sanchez's QBR last year was lower though.
