You bastards will never let this die, will you? Oh well, I had my balls busted before when I put the Rangers before the Bruins, and I get my balls busted now that I solely root for the B's. I can take it ;)

Another player who gets screwed out of an NHL job, not because he can't play, but because his agent was too good.

Not what I expected out of the salary cap.

he is still getting paid a far too high NHL salary. If he wants to play that bad, he can go to the minors, or play well enough that he is worth even half of his salary to another team.
no tears shed for his loss of an NHL job, that all on him.

Easy Jeff, you can't go switching allegiances here....this is the NHL.....not the NBA ;)

lol, well played Dash.

I know it's not a direct apples to apples comparison Dacks, but this is why I disagree: If I'm at a company and I get a raise for a job well done in the past, or I get newly hired on as a Sales Manager by a company at a higher rate than my worth, I'll get fired from my job when I'm no longer useful at my salary.....even if I'm still good enough to be a Salesman.

Why on earth did they waive him if they didn't know if someone was going to take him?

I believe you have to put a player on regular waivers and see if he clears before sending him down to the minors. The Devils can then put him on re-entry waivers hoping some team puts in a claim and save 50%.

However, I'm very surprised to hear that Rolston is in the lineup for the Devils tonight.

But since they did both in one day wouldn't you think they would have asked around to see if anyone would take him before going thru the whole waiver process? This doesn't seem like a Louie Lams run team anymore.

When you combine Rolston's age, salary, and lack of production, you're not going to find many takers (Kevin Lowe joke goes here).

I don't know what's going on with the Devils these days, but you're right, somebody or something seems to be hindering Louie Lams.

tinfoil hat tells me Rolston ends up on LTIR before the night is over.

but yes you are right on AJ's question.... they need to run him through waivers before they have offer him at half price on re-entries.

Dash pretty much summed up everything I've read he would have to clear waivers to be sent down before the can put him on reentry waivers and pray for a taker.and yes it appears he will be playing center tonight between clarkson and tedenby.
