They said that about Reyes and Reyes didn't get hurt once because of the turf in 3 years.

So you're pumped about the Jays swapping their highly skilled, oft-injured shortstop for a highly-skilled, oft-injured shortstop?

When the fuck is Rogers going to take decision making authority away from that gyro cook up there?

Reyes isn't highly-skilled anymore. Tulo is. That alone makes it worth it.

If for some god forsaken reason the Mets were interested in Reyes (they're not), Colorado would need to eat a whole lot of salary (they weren't willing to do that for Tulo, not sure why they'd do it for Reyes). There's no way the Wilpons will fork over that kind of dough.

Nothing like being the 6th most valuable franchise with the 20th payroll! It's ironic because if the Mets spent money and got premiere, marketable players they'd be more valuable, people like me might actually pay to see them.
I could see Reyes go to Washington or the Cubs. Mets don't want him.

I set the over/under on Tulo's games played for the Jays before hitting the DL at 17.

Good luck with that, Danny.
Well, that would kinda suck. I'm really sick of watching Ryan Goins strike out when Reyes was hurt. Really don't wanna see him anymore.

Overheard yesterday in the Rockies front office:

Zack Rosenthal - HOLY SHIT!

Adele Armagost - What?!

Danny Montgomery - Yeah, what?!

ZR - do you guys realize that Tulo has already played eighty-six games this season?

AA - Oh, fuck.

DM - What? That's good, isn't it?

AA - No, that's bad. Very bad. That means he's almost reached his quota and will be hitting the DL in a week or two.

ZR - We've got to move him quickly.

DM - Yeah, but to which team?

ZR - Ned Colletti is a dumbfuck. He took all that shit from the Red Sox a few years back.

AA - No. The Dodgers already have a huge payroll and are performing. Who was the dumbfuck that the Marlins unloaded all that crap on a bit ago?

DM - Oh, that was the Blue Jays.

ZR - YES! The Blue Jays! What's their GM's name? Popodopolopolus, or something?

AA - Who gives a shit. Get that gyro folder on the horn, I'm going to drop Tulo on them before he hits the DL.

Still an upgrade over Reyes. Still only as likely to get hurt as Reyes. Still worth it.

Then you shouldn't be too psyched about Tulo. The next full season he plays will be his first, and he averaged 88 games a season in the three years preceding 2015.

I'd say he's more likely to get hurt....since the start of 2012, Tulo's played in more than 100 less games than Reyes. Not to mention Tulo's contract doesn't end for 3 years after Reyes' ends (which isn't really a plus for the Jays).
In the past 3 seasons, Tulo's played in 72.4% of games (304 of 421). In that same time, Jose Reyes has played in 71.9% of games (305/424). So no.

Of course, you're conveniently leaving out a season where he just played 47 games...

We could also say that Tulo's played in less than 100 games in 2 of the past 3 completed seasons.

No, I'm conveniently using his past 3 seasons including the current one because who gives a fuck about 2012?

Baseball Prospectus' PECOTA projection system is widely considered the most accurate of the publicly available projection systems.

PECOTA gives a fuck about 2012.

Has it ever occured to you that his injury in 2012 is likely to linger in the future? It was a groin injury, which in many cases repeats/leads to other lower body injuries. It wasn't like he broke his arm where once it's fixed up it's good as new.

So yes, 2012 does matter.

That's good.

Still an upgrade.

This reminds me a lot of the conversation we had back when Popodopolopolus took all that crap from the Marlins.

I'm not trying to pop your balloon, I'm just telling you how I see it. I hope this deal works out better for the Jays.
