He always comes up huge in the least important moments. lol
came up pretty big in Game 7 against the Pacers last year.....came up pretty big averagining a double double in Finals in 2 straight finals including the championship season.

He is a very solid player- great rebounder, rarely hurt, good leader, good work ethic. 18.5M is too much for him- but he is a guy that would help every single team in the league.

His work ethic, durability, leadership are very underated qualities. He is of course one of the best reboudners and a totally elite offensive rebounder and at least a fairly competent scorer.

He is a guy that just helps you win games.

The infamous "good stats on a shitty team" syndrome.
his stats have increased in a huge way without Love and LeBron- 2 of the best rebounders at their position- and obviously 2 great scorers.

but the things that make thomspon a good player are there this year just like they were last year- durability, work ethic, leadership, toughness, rebounding, ability to switch the pick and roll etc.

And what makes him a non-playoff caliber player is his poor shooting and his propensity to foul players.

a non playoff caliber player that averaged a double double in 2 straight NBA finals...makes sense.

a nonplayoff player that comes in after sitting n the bench al lseries against hte Pacers- and goes for 15 and 10 in a deciding Game 7

apparently the day after the Cavs traded for Burks from Utah they got multiple offers for him---offering 2nd round picks...

apparently they are not taking it in hopes of aggregating him with other players to get back higher draft picks.

Delly has been great since the Cavs traded for him-

Since the Cavs traded for Delly he is averaging:

11.8 pts, 4.6 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 56.8% from the field, 52.4% from the floor. Its obvious Milwaukee was mis-using him. Not only are his numbers great but his ratios are amazing as well.

The great thing about the Milwaukee deal for the Cavs is that Henson and Delly are actually useful players- maybe slightly overpaid- but with only 1 year remaining each, both of them will be trade assets next year if the Cavs are still willing to take back bad money.

the Milwaukee deal looks really good right now--- and the Jazz deal looks great too since Burks could net them at LEAST a 2nd rounder.

3 2nd rounders for Korver is not bad.

a 1st and 2nd and 1 extra year of Delly and Henson for Hill is looking really good as well.

Best part the Cavs still have JR, Burks, Hood, etc. to make more deals- and theyh ave those 2nd round picks to grease the skids to throw in if need be.

Yeah, all kidding aside, I like TT and have always defended the Cavs signing him for the price they did. I just think he's overpaid for pretty much every other team in the league.

I'd have no issues with him coming to the Lakers on a considerably smaller deal. He would actually provide a good bit of what they lack as far as defense and rebounding. Plus, he knows how to play with Lebron.

Nice cherry picking.
how many players in the NBA averaged a double double in 2 straight NBA Finals in the last decade? not many that is for sure--- and one is TT.

He got TONS of credit for the work he does on the boards, guarding the perimeter in so many of those playoff series.

your comment was incredibly stupid and ill-informed. TT is a very valuable guy to have in the playoffs- the way he can switch pick and rolls, the way he can get extra possessions for your team, his toughness and durability and team-first work ethic are great. I remember him just lighting UP Al horford in those 2 Hawks series....

he is a guy you want in your fox hole when you play in the NBA playoffs. He would be a great addition and give your 76'ers some spine and toughness for the playoffs

id be willing to bet that there is not 1 player in the NBA that has more offensive rebounds in the post season over hte last 4 years--- and really, he is probably top 3 in all of the NBA in rebounds as well during the postseason in the last 4 years--- maybe even higher than that.

I would love to have TT. But not at 18 mill a year.

17-18-- Thompson 10th in total rebounds, 4th in offensive rebounds (2nd is Klove and 3rd is LeBron- so he is fighting for everyone of those boards)

16-17 --Thompson 4th in total rebounds , 1st by a mile in offensive rebounds (#1 is Kevin Love and #2 LeBron so he is FIGHITNG for everyone of those boards)

15-16 ---Thompson 3rd in total rebounds, 1st by a mile in offensive rebounds (1st was green 2nd was lebron)

14-15---- Thompson 3rd in total rebounds, 1st by a mile in offensive rebounds (2 was LeBron, #1 Dwight)

so yah.....3rd in total rebounds and 1st in offensive rebounds in the post season in a 4 year stretch--- not a post season player though. LOL
unreal

to say he is not a "post season player" is absolutely ridiculous.

You're right. He's awesome in the playoffs. He should get an even bigger contract when this one expires because he is so money in the playoffs.

You think there is ANY pressure on the Cavs right now?

The players goal is to win every game, they are a young team just like most of the bottom feeders. It has nothing to do with pressure.

The entire NBA in that sample size is really just 2 teams that have played the most postseason games. So TT is he best offensive rebounder on either the Warriors or Cavs, congrats

Sure that's fair, just giving some balance to Wiggy's ballwashing

Look, we all agree TT is a nice player with a shitty contract
Plenty of those in the league. Can we move on now?
