And again, I take it Oregon is the only team allowed to advance from year to year. MSU not having great defense in your house last year AUTOMATICALLY means they CAN'T have any at home this year right? :L Jesus you two.

what signs point to MSU having a better defense than last year?

They lost their DC...who was a great DC

They lost most of their defensive studs...

so again, what signs point to MSU having a better defense?

trick offense? You mean the same Offense Washington tried to establish.
Um, no. They never adopted the HU spread. They did go HU (hated it) under Sark, but he still ran a pro style offense, not that BS spread trick crap you guys run that keeps it so few of your players make it at the next level. At least compared to other teams with top 5 talent. How many active QB's are starting on NFL teams from your squad? One and he's a huge questionmark. It's a trick offense bro.

Oregon has produced some major NFL talent the last decade.

just our Heisman winner who was #2 overall pick...

Nothing OD. Only Oregon ever gets better. No one else. Ever. For all time.

You are skipping posts. I said the Pac as a whole hasn't played defense in the better part of a decade. Stanford has had one here and there, USC had moments until the sanctions, and ASU has had an erratic, but at times smothering D.

Already covered it.
Sorry, my bad!!

as I said, he's a huge question mark. He's only a starter because he's on literally one of the worst teams in the league. They were going to start Charley Whitehurst at one point. Congrats on passing him up? :noidea:

Where's the rest of this deep offensive talent across the league? A couple of RB's, one center, and who else?

Except...

They lost their Heisman winning QB - no biggie
They lost a tackle and guard on the OL - that's not 2/5 of the OL or anything.
They lost a DE1st round - probably not a playmaker.
and they lost a DB

Yeah, they are basically the same. Those are not key positions or anything, especially that QB position.
Just like they have over the last 7 years..... But still winning games.

This isn't Iowa here.

People are thinking this MSU defense is on the same stages of Auburn '10, Ohio State '14, and Michigan state of years past.... C'mon.

Personally, I think it is going to be a close game. I do think MSU can beat the Ducks. I can't wait for it, I think its going to be a good one.

What studs are you talking about? Our two corners were torched by any team with a decent QB and Calhoun came back.

Shilique Calhoun was by far and away our best d-lineman that demands double coverage and he came back for his senior year.

True. I will admit, over the past 10 years, Oregon did better than Iowa, but I didn't bring up Iowa.

You talked about Michigan State losing those players and then said Oregon basically has the same team as last year, when in fact they lost key players as well, including Heisman winner.

Now, I did pick Michigan State to win (as of right now). I believe their matchups on both sides of the ball is better. Oregon has the better O and MSU has the better D, but I think MSU's O vs Oregon's D is a better matchup than Oregon's O vs MSU's D.

Also, it is in East Lansing and I am sure the crowd will be fired up. It's not the same as Camp Randall or Beaver Stadium, but it still will be intense. I do think that will be an advantage.
