We took a major step to improving our O to match the prowess of our D. This should be a good year coming up.

So we have the possibilty of getting a second round pick, plus we get rid of a Qb who knows the medical staff better then his own teammates, save a bunch load of money and we get a better Qb. Somebody pinch me, I must be dreaming. Where is the downside?
Downside?

Let's ask some Philly fans....

Sam Bradford is your new QB!

What do you guys think?

Well thanks Iggloo. He will be highly appreciated. I know the Philly fans are pissed right now. I think Chip maybe packaging Bradford and picks to move up to get MM. So hang in. There might be more to this story as the draft rolls around. I am Flyers and Phillies fan so I know how things can get in Philly when things start to get really ridiculous.

What happens to the conditional pick if they trade Bradford I wonder?

I believe it would end the deal and things would remain as they are, which as of now has the Rams getting a 2nd.

Love the 4th Rd pick we picked up. Maybe a good spot for a QB.

From what I understand, we get their second rounder next year no matter what. If Bradford gets hurt or doesn't play the 8 games, we keep the second but send them back a 3rd or 4th depending on the situation. If he gets traded again, the deal should still stand.

Yea, we get huge cap space, a new QB in Foles, a 4th rounder this year, and we give up a 5th this year. We get a 2nd next year no matter what happens to Bradford on the Eagles end. If Sammie sticks around with the Eagles and fails to play 8 games or gets hurt and doesn't play much, we will cough up an additional 3rd or 4th depending which of these conditions Sammie satisfies (see the details at any a number of sports venues).

If Sammy gets dumped or packaged, we still get the 4th and give up the 5th this year and we get the 2nd next year. The conditional stuff with us coughing up an additional 3rd or 4th goes away. Foles is very happy about being the starter for the Rams and getting out of Philly. So we made out like bandits for sure and we may have a QB for more than just a year if things work out.

Good question, I would guess there is language in there protecting the Rams since the Rams have no control over that type of play...

That said, I would speculate the Rams would get the Eagles 2nd rounder next year by default...

From what I've read, the 2nd rounder is locked in regardless. Only the potential 3rd or 4th rounder back to the Eagles next year is conditional based on Bradford's health.

You are correct Shopson. The 4th this year and the loss of the 5th this year and the 2nd we get next year are locked in. The conditional stuff with us coughing up a 3rd and 4th will change depending on which condition Sammie satisfies or if he is packaged or cut. The first part is locked in. So we made out very well especially with that huge cap space we just got by virtue of losing Sammie's albatross contract.

Chip Kelly traded for Bradford's potential out of college. Bradford has already been in a gimmick system...his rookie year.

Its crazy how much better things have gotten for the Rams after they chose not to get RG3. Now if they could just get all of this young talent to win games...

Just posed this on the Negativity thread..

Trying to make sense of Eagles' decision to trade Nick Foles for Sam Bradford | NJ.com

Good breakdown in this article.

This below makes me think Chip is an ego-maniac that wants his own footprint on this team and getting rid of all of Andy Reid's players was high on the priority list. Chip seems very Mad Mike Martz-ish.

Is Bradford now the "franchise quarterback"?
That answer is no, and getting that straightened out really helps to understand the trade.
Kelly wouldn't commit to Foles after the quarterback won him an NFC East title, a Pro Bowl MVP and threw 27 touchdowns and two interceptions. He wouldn't commit to DeSean Jackson after a 1,332 yard season, and he wouldn't commit to LeSean McCoy after becoming the franchise's all-time leading rusher.
So, no — Kelly likely isn't handing the keys to the franchise over to Bradford, a guy with a one-year contract given to him by another team. Nor is Kelly tying his coaching career to Bradford before even one practice

I think that is the plan Clayton. With the Niners subsiding a bit with their fire sale and the Seahawks losing a few and getting a few (Maxwell and Unger gone, Graham arriving and Lynch re-signing) and the Cards re-arming, we have a chance to move on up this coming year.

Yes, I posted that prior to any real clarity.

The 2016 second rounder is a lock! :heh:

If the Cardinals get Lupati, Adrian Peterson, and Sean Witherspoon.. Holy $H!
