On paper would seem to be a better matchup for us.

Guess dealing with 18–22-year-olds so never know.

Hence the problem. Neither the loser of this game nor the ND/ Penn State game should be referred to as anything but excellent teams.

Depending on when and how the points are scored, a 37 to 20 game could be viewed as a blow out or a close game.

Where's the guy who claimed Oregon should be the co National Champion even if they don't win the playoff. Not sure if he meant the actual championship game or any playoff game. I will watch for his next post explaining why.

And the point has not changed. Whoever wins the last game is not going to have a resume better than Oregon's. Notre Dame can match their single loss, but the other teams will all have more losses and not-more quality wins. I don't think either Penn State or Texas can catch Oregon on the various math-based selectors, although I have not delved into the formulas. Oregon still has wins over half of the remaining teams, so their SOS is still going up.

All that said, if people want to call Notre Dame -- which is practically an ACC team, since they play most of an ACC schedule and have an ACC quarterback -- the champions, I am here for the ensuing entertainment.

OSU also has wins over half the remaining teams and while they lost to Oregon it was AT Oregon by a point. Beat them (by a lot) at a neutral site. IF we win it all can also add wins over Texas and either ND or another over PSU (plus the TN win).

But the idea you'd make the comments you do and claim you'd be entertained by calling ND the champ after winning the championship is next level.

and the resume thing is nuts as IF OSU won they would have played and beaten at least 2 and maybe all 3 of the semi teams. In addition beat Tennessee and Indiana from the CFP.

Oregon would have beaten OSU at home by 1 (OSU beat them neutral by 20), PSU neutral (OSU beat them at PSU) and BSU at home by a FG?

But sure.....raise a banner and have a parade for it if they want.
