The theme parks in Orlando had to TURN away customers yesterday.

That is exactly what Florida Tourism wanted.

I hate Orlando. I agree that Florida loves the dollars flooding in due to bowl games, but I avoid Orlando at all costs. Most long time Floridians do the same. Traffic there is horrible on any given day of the year, and I cannot imagine the gridlock during the Holidays plus bowl games.

Orlando traffic > Ft. Lauderdale/Miami traffic every day of the year. Many ways to bypass the tourism crap. Spent too much time driving through both areas and I will take Orlando every day of the week. Even at rush hour.

It's really not that bad.. just avoid I 4.. most of the toll roads are very light traffic I can zip around Orlando in a hurry these days. Especially now that the 417 & 429 are mostly complete

We always did. Especially the Sea World passes. Loved living down there for that reason. As a resident you paid for 1 day and could go the rest of the year as many times as you wanted. Did that for 3 years. Hell of a lot better than any other park as far as the value for the money.
