Ok lets say the Jays play .600 for the rest of the season.

That means they go 74-49 you add that to their current record of 15-24 and you have 89-73.

Does anybody believe that 89 wins will win the division?

Probably not, but it would probably get them a WC

nope.. we don't. but we do have a reyes coming back

The Angels got Trout a few weeks into the season

The Jays will be fortunate to get Reyes back before the All Star Break

And Reyes isn't a fraction of 2012 Mike Trout

1) The Angels won 89 last year and finished 4 games out in the wild card

2) Moot point anyways, since the Jays aren't winning 89 games (because VP said so)

It would seem that HW does. I was trying to show him that the Jays are gonna have to play .650-.700 ball from here on out to win the division. Thats definitely not happening

Maybe.. 2nd Wild Card team had 93 wins last year

if their was a 2nd wild card in 2011 it would have been a 90 win team..

2010 would have been 89

So That's kinda a toss up for the AL

Agreed.

It's E-5's fault Heatwave. I told you that losing follows that turd wherever he goes.

the logic in my conclusion is that the division is still winnable. especially with no dominant team in it at this very moment. his theory was that teams don't come back and make runs of .600 ball i just proved it does and can happen. the blue jays have the talent to do it just the same

No, they really don't!

They are at best what you saw this weekend - a team that can explode for 6 hr's a day after being held to 1 hit by a strong lefty!

This is not my first year of watching baseball.
And if the Jays have that type of team, why have they struggled to win back to back games all year - let alone be a .400 team? And they are gonna go on a prolonged .600 win run?

Dickey is gonna be 2012 Dickey and not 2000 - 2011 dickey?
Reyes will come back healthy as planned and light it up?
Melky is gonna take the roids?
Burhelehe is gonna be a sub 3.50 ERA pitcher
Johnson will pitch again this season?
Morrow is not a bag of shit?
Happ will rebound from injury and be strong like he was for a month, not garbage like he has been for years?

I don't hate the Jays, since 1993 they haven't been a pimple on the ass of the yankees.

You mean the team that called up ROY, had a strong pitching staff and Albert Puljos

AND

Missed the Fucking Playoffs!!!!

"Ha fuckers if the Angels can do it, so can my Jays....wait, what?!? they didn't win shit?!"

"If the Jays even make a run, I will be a genius! Thats' all I predicted in March, April and May...just a run, never said they WILL make the playoffs and win the division" - Heat Gammons

stupid ass, they missed the playoffs because they had the A's and Texas in the division. the blue jays don't have any team in the division the caliber of either of those teams. which is my point exactly..
no we don't have the ROY or pujols

but we do have encarnacion, bautista, reyes, Melky, lawrie, JPA

and the angels last year had weaver, and CJ and a sometimes good sometimes bad haren.

There's also no team in the 2013 AL East of the 2012 Mariners caliber

Well, except the Jays maybe

Melky has 2 more HR's than me...and 2 more XBH's than me.
Please stop including him in your "pluses"

Gardner would be leading your team in batting - that is pathetic.

BTW- does Phelps still suck?

LOL I didn't even see that

Yeah, where is a team going to be able to get the production Lawrie is giving them....

The Angels put a guy on the trading block during the preseason that might be able to put up numbers comparable to Lawrie.

I can't remember his name, but do know he just had a RBI single a few minutes ago.

The logic in your conclusion is because the Angels last year were able to finish in 3rd place, therefore the division is winnable?

Like I said, I don't see how anyone can read HW's posts and not think affirmative action has been a colossal failure

nooo.. don't try and change my words or argument. you said teams don't be as bad as the jays are and go on to play .600+ ball. i proved the angels did that.

and you making the point that they finished 3rd is actually making my case. you know why? because their is no texas rangers oakland a's type teams in this division which gives the blue jays a better chance of completing the comeback successfully. that's the point

The Angels had the Best OPS+ in the Majors last year, 4th Runs and 5th in OBP..

Blue Jays offense is capable of duplicating that?
