Big Series. Boston can knock us out of it early or we can claw back into the race. Between the Rays and Texas....who are we rooting for? Do we hope they split since Clev. is a lock for the other spot? I'm confused.

Red Sox fan here.

I, for one, wouldn't be that disappointed if we did lose this series, since wins by your team
would help eliminate the team I call the "Sinstripes." How many other Sox fans share the sentiment
don't know, but there must be some. I

I would imagine you are alone in that sentiment. Especially considering we knocked you out 2 years ago on the last day of the season.

Who is going to blow it for us tonight? Patton or Johnson?

Since we play TB hth you'd like to be within 3 games, but since Texas is now only 2 ahead I guess it's better for them to lose. Hopefully KC can beat Cleveland. Of course it may not matter if they screw around up in Boston and get swept.

In the minority, quite possibly, but most Bostonians feel no sympathy at all for the Sinstripes, so I doubt I'm
totally alone here.

And with regard to last season, it was more the fault of Bobby Valentine having been our WORST manager since Don Zimmer, back when Earl Weaver was managing your team.

Valentine was the opposite of Weaver since he was, I kid you not, CLUELESS about when to lift pitchers.

22 pitches that inning, even with JJ first pitch groundout. Better than the 1st I guess....

He actually has the lowest walk rate of our pitchers.....he might just be having a bad night.

So once again in a must win game, (every game now is a must win), Jones, Davis and Markakis go down on strikes. These three just didn't show up after the ASG. All three seem determined to build a reputation of a player that 'can't get it done', one that just 'can't deliver'.

How embarrassing.

Maybe Jones doesn't want to embarrass himself in the postseason again.... and Markakis wants to go his entire career and not experience the postseason. Davis gets a pass....he's got 50 hr for god's sake.

Can't imagine Markakis having that kind of bad stretch. He KILLS the Red Sox whenever I watch him.
