That was when Paul Gaston owned the Celtics, Jim. Besides that, its interesting the reports surfacing that Ainge will roam the sidelines. I had that discussion over the weekend with a buddy and wouldn't you know, now SB is reporting the same idea. Ainge had a nice stint as the Suns head coach. Plus, it would save the franchise a bit of money. I will miss Doc Rivers. He was the best when it came to late game execution. Even without Rivers, if Boston somehow holds onto the team we've got I think we have a great run in us next season barring injuries.

if you look at my 2013 celtics rebuilt thread, its going down much like I expected. I did not predict Doc leaving and a first round pick tho.

I dont like the Josh Smith idea, but its clear they Celts are working with Doc, KG and Paul to make the transitions amicable for all.

Nice. Welcome aboard. Well, we have the #16 pick. I am hoping Shabazz Muhammad falls similar to Sullinger last year. If not, I'd like Dennis Schroeder to back up Rondo. Failing that, I'd like to see us trade the pick. In my heart of hearts, I know Paulie is going to be dealt or bought out but I really don't want him to leave. Or Garnett. I really wish we could somehow deal Bass, Terry and our pick in a sign and trade for Josh Smith and then get Greg Oden in Celtic green.

That's what our training camp looks like. We took on a 10mil/yr salary in Gerald Wallace who is almost 31. Maybe he'll earn his keep. We gain plenty draft picks. We get a bit of salary relief when Humphries comes off the books.

i think the C made the smart move.. they had the talent but couldnt get it done in the playoffs.. this move will get them younger hungrier and set for the next few years.. 9 first round pick in the near future.. thats just crazy.. they will remain competitive or should.. and somewhere around the 6-8 seed till they get more players.. lets see what free agency brings july 1st..

Well, I am a hardcore Celtics fan and will be rooting for us to win THIS YEAR. I also wouldn't mind seeing Truth and KG be successful in Brooklyn failing Celtics contention. They deserve another title shot. Word.
