I was actually a little disappointed that the Kings were able to retain Cousins with neither side having an option. I was kind of hoping we could deal something like Bass or Sullinger and a pick to put Cousins alongside Rondo and Green. I know that's not popular with some of you guys because of his character issues but remember, at one time they accused Paulie of the same type of stuff. Some people take longer to mature than others but at least you don't hear about Cousins involved in crimes. Attitude I can deal with, evil I cannot. Word.

That's interesting, he's athletic enough to play the 2, but he's a true 3.

Yeah, that tells me we are about to lose some depth at that position. Heck, we've got TOO much depth there. Bogans, Brooks, Bradley, Crawford and Lee and now Stevens is playing GREEN there? Maybe Danny has a big deal on the table? Word.

Yeah it makes no sense to play Green at the 2 when we have all the depth there. I'd start AB at the 1, Brooks at the 2 and Green at the 3 to start the season. Then when Rondo comes back have AB and Brooks play the 2 and AB get some minutes at the 1 when Rondo is on the bench.

I thought Danny had something up his sleeve to land Cousins.

BAM, no two teams are in such different places than the Lakers and the Celtics. You will come to see this in the years ahead. Get adjusted, and remember, you heard it here first. You will learn to appreciate how you acquired those great players you had, as you learn more about how your past happened.

Crotch, I'm disappointed in you. Where's your annual "Celtics will shock the world" thread? I can't wait to hear how the Celtics "Big 3" of Rondo, Sullinger and Olynyk are going to lead the C's to the promised land.

Maybe he can re-build quickly through the draft like the Celtics did after their 1986 title.

If, as I've said before, spending money made that much difference Tom Yawkey's Red Sox would have won 20+
WSs during his ownership decades.

Spending smart counts for more than spending big.

Considering the titles and being able to count on one hand, the number of seasons that the Lakers have missed the playoffs, I'd say they've spent their money pretty wisely.:suds:

Excluding the Kobe deal at $30M, I tend to agree. Pre CBA and the salary cap restrictions it was relatively well spent.

I actually hope they go crazy and spend on the available free agent class ahead, especially on Kobe.

Feels alot like the late 80's Celtics denial period.

Let's see Ainge's talent as a GM next few years trying to bring back the heralded Celtics to prominence. Jerry West he ain't......
