As I understand it, the whole battle between Michigan and Ohio is because of Toledo. Michigan is pissed because they wanted it, and Ohio is pissed because they had to take it.

So I propose this: Tonight's game decides the outcome. Whoever wins gets Toledo.

I only propose this because there is no chance that The Jackets are going to win and I would really not mind having Toledo go away. And Cleveland.

The funny thing is, at the end of the "battle", Michigan got the whole of the U.P. in exchange for Toledo, thus pissing off Wisconsin to no end.

Wait a minute, I didn't say I'd trade them to the Islanders for peanuts. I said I'd have them in the playoffs in 5 years. Sorry, but the Blue Jackets need to be blown up. The Carter trade will be a disaster. Both Carter & Nash are right handed shots. Playing them on the same line won't work. Why the Blue Jackets scouts recommended acquiring him is beyond me?? Why Howson listened to them is even worse.

I'm actually watching this game on a Friday night.

Early notes:

- Darren Helm is awesome. Good teams like the Wings have great 3rd liners like Helm. Amazing depth.

- Not many Jackets seem to care much. I wonder; are they frozen by an overly rigid system? Whatever the problem is, the coaches/team leaders need to make something happen.

As I write it's 1-0 Wings.
