NL RoY
While 3 months ago, it looked like no one was going to touch Bryce Harper, and they still may not, seeing that ESPN is elbow deep in him, it's a considerably closer race now. Both are on Division leading teams, so that won't come into play. Numbers through August 15th:

Bryce Harper
.245, 10 HR, 32 RBI, .718 OPS, 16 2B, 5 3B

Todd Frazier -Cincinnati Reds
.286, 15 HR, 49 RBI, .884 OPS, 19 2B, 5 3B

Cy Young
RA Dickey is probably the leader in the clubhouse as of now, although Strasburg gets heavy pub as well. Again, both are ESPN darlings

Dickey
15-4, 2.89 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, .225 BAA, 175 SO, 38 BB, 2 Shutouts

Strasburg
14-5, 2.91 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, .225 BAA, 173 SO, 42 BB, 0 Shutouts

Johnny Cueto - Cincinnati Reds
15-6, 2.45 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, .250 BAA, 127 SO, 37 BB, 0 Shutouts

Wildcard**
Aroldis Chapman has been absolutely unhitable this year - especially vs. the NL. If I could vote, he would be mine.

Chapman - Cincinnati Reds
4-4, 1.26 ERA, 0.68 WHIP, .146 BAA, 106 SO, 14 BB, 28 Saves (became closer May 20th)
Aside from a 4 game blow up span (just before he was diagnosed with a shoulder injury) no one can even touch this guy. His numbers are on pace to be considerably better than when Gagne won the Cy Young as a closer in 2003

MVP
Anderw McCutchen is definitely the sexy pick right now, mostly because 3/4 of the way through the season, we're still talking about the Pirates. I agree he's had a great season, and if the Reds are going to sweep these awards, this will be the hardest. However, he's beginning to slump now, and his team is falling out of the playoff hunt. My prediction is predicated on him continuing to slide finishing the season.

McCutchen
.358, 24 HR, 72 RBI, 1.025 OPS, 23 2B, 5 3B, 45 BB, 87 Ks

Votto - Cincinnati Reds
.342, 14 HR, 49 RBI, 1.069 OPS, 36 2B, 0 3B, 66 BB, 65 Ks

Votto's power numbers are down, but much of this can be attributed to the Reds horrible (offensive even) offense this year, and their lack of ability to hit with RISP. Pure hitting wise, I would take Votto every day over McCutchen, and Votto is also a Gold Glove 1st baseman

Bold predictions are bold, but food for thought.

Go Reds :first:
