It's clear he has serious talent, but injuries in high school and now college are concerning. Add to it, he has lost almost 30 pounds in a year and looked anorexic at 205 lbs at the combine.

Is he worth a 1st round pick? If he slid down to 24 or past, is it just something you have to do and roll the dice? And, FWIW, I think Boston should take him at 20 if he gets there. He would be their 3rd pick of the 1st round and they can afford to gamble.

He won't be available around the Blazers pick.

10-15. ATL might take him at 10.

He would be a good fit in ATL with Collins imo

7'3, 205 (was 236). So he's a taller version of Brandon Ingram (6'9, 190), physique-wise, and we know he can carry more weight (Ingram has had difficulty adding bulk).

That's crazy.

7'8" wingspan

His dad had an insane 8'6" wingspan (5" taller). Tacko, same height as Manute has an 8'0" wingspan

Tacko has a 10'2 standing reach. That's grabbing the rim, flat-footed.

His dad was 180 when he came to the U.S. he gained 20 pounds before being drafted. Only weighed 202. Bol Bol already weighs more after losing 30 pounds, kinda crazy he lost that much. But if he can get back up close to that 235 or so he should be fine.

Manute could only bench 40 pounds 10 times and squat 55 pounds 10 times.

I'd for sure draft Bol Bol, given the upside anywhere near the end of the Lottery and definitely before 20 he should be gone.

What I would do is I would red-shirt him for a year. Let him get fully healthy and work on his body development. Put him on a nutrition program and weight training program. You want him to be a guy who can sustain the rigors of an 82 game season and guys his height usually aren't able to. But with newer technology and advancements in treatments I believe it can be done, at least better than before.

Red shirt him for 1 year, half the year for sure, then put him with the D-League team to get some conditioning back. But for the majority of the year let him travel with the team so he gets to know the daily ins and outs of the grind.

I think someone gambles on that talent well before 20. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go #10 to Atlanta.
Seriously?

He can't get thru a high school or college season without injury and he's a solid 50-70 pounds underweight and someone will make him their lottery pick? There's a soon to be unemployed GM.

I'd say that it depends on what the doctors say about his injuries. If he should be okay, I can see a team doing that, especially if they don't have to win now. If he can stay healthy, he should have big upside.

I guess after watching Portland go thru 4 centers with less of a history of injuries not make the grade, as a GM I'd pass on BB at least thru 22 picks.

It's not that crazy. The longer your arms and legs are, the more range in motion required to perform each compound movement, respectively. Having said that, it's amazing that he can barely bench the benchpress bar.

Yeah no doubt, very difficult to bench or swat when your legs and arms are that extraordinarily long but only the bar haha crazy
