The criticisms of Nix were his alleged inability to push the ball down field. So far that criticism has been accurate as he is 11 of 36 with 4 picks in passes of more than 5 yards down field. Only 5 yards. A run game will be Nix's friend not more 5 WR sets and 40+ pass attempts.

If you are throwing - 2 yard passes . it is a waste of time trying to run the football . What I am pissed about is simple ... Why did we go from a wonderful game plan in the preseason of using all of the football Field to half the field and itty-bitty short passes ????????????? that was not ever going to work . Ever ..It will be interesting what Payton does in the coming days he admitted he blew cuts.

Take the year off? LOL... WHAT?

That would be the dumbest thing he could do in his Free Agent year.

He lost weight. He is a full year removed from his knee injury. Sure he can do better but he has hardly had a chance to run the ball this year. It is Week 3. Why would he take the year off? That would be basically 2 years out of 4 where he didn't play going into free agency.

Bo found his lather Those last two throws were as good as it gets ....Tight windows .

And that Franklin throw was not what the Coach wanted this guy makes sense of why the tiff went on . The other throw was there .And I do get Payton as well. Man that was a good throw all the same. Bo has a better arm than I thought ..

Mac Jones had his career derailed for 3 reasons...

1) Maybe the biggest is the Patriots during Jones' second year decided not to have a traditional OC. They decided to do this combine Joe Judge and Matt Patricia to run the offense thing and it was terrible.
2) They have had the worst weapons in the entire NFL for the last about 5 years. They have done very little to actually improve that area of the team. Belichick was not huge on adding weapons other than at the Slot WR spot and TE. Well even there they have been weak.
3) Mac Jones personality wise from what I understand is not great. He struggled in the locker room.

So I don't think you will see Nix have that same downfall from year 1 to year 2 like Jones had. He should have a great offensive mind to continue to work with. I would guess the Broncos will invest pretty heavily in adding to their weaponry this offseason, and Nix seems like a great guy in the locker room. I've seen with him more players come to his defense when people on twitter go after Nix. And weird thing is they are usually defensive players standing up for him.

As a fan - what I like about Bo Nix is he is hungry to be the best QB he can be. He puts in the time. Payton has him playing inside a tight box of HC expectations - and here in the 5th game - Bo pushes the envelope. I think the WRs want to open up the offense a little more and Bo is representing that to the HC.

Nix handles himself different. Teammates love him. Teammates loved Lock too so it doesn’t mean everything but you can tell a different kind of swag with Nix.
