Okay, Kenny, I'll take the consolation prize of Shattenkirk and Berglund.

Sabres could give them Myers for Pietrangelo. He's under contract for 6 more years yet. No need to worry about a UFA that way.

If the Pens do get rid of Letang, man Shattenkirk would be a nice replacement. Unfortunately he'll be getting quite a hefty raise himself.

I don't know how many people read the article, but Armstrong says he'll match any and all offer sheets that are submitted.

I mean, unless one of the RFAs wants out, they have the money to sign all of them.

I think the Blues (like most teams) have an internal budget though and they might have to blow the team budget to retain all these free agents. Pietrangelo is likely going to get Suter type dollars.

What the article doesn't tell you is that he was winking and tapping his finger on a Flyers logo while he said that.

I read that really quickly, and took from it that you wanted to impregnate Pietrangelo.

RFA's don't have the choice.
all they know when they sign an offer sheet is what their contract will be.
they don't have any say with which team it will be.

I know, I'm saying if one of them goes to management and says "I want out" and a trade is considered. Don't see it happening at all.

Looks like Berglund is done (one year deal)

Sources confirm the St. Louis Blues have agreed in principle on a one-year contract with center Patrik Berglund.

Berglund who tied for the team lead with 17 goals this season, has two 20 goal seasons and a 19 goal season in his five-year NHL career.

Word is both sides discussed a long-term contract but Berglund appears comfortable with signing the one-year deal.

Berglund’s salary will likely fall somewhere between the $3 million David Perron made last season and the $3.375 Oshie earned. Both Perron and Oshie were in the first year of long-term contracts this past year.

Berglund with a small contract at 3.25 and Shattenkirk at 4.25 x4. Never would have guessed they sign for that small after the season and before the draft. Agents scratching their heads, other agents going to punch them.

Those two are dummies. Nice work by Armstrong. What's he putting in the water over there?

Reminders that they are a good, young team and in a division that no longer includes Detroit or Columbus.
