Sekac placed on waivers. Indication of another deal? Lots of rumors about the Hawks pursuing Dan Hamhuis.

yeah, I read Hamhuis and Vrbata. Sekac had a nice dish for the hawks only goal last night.

Per Rotoworld:

Andrew Ladd is hoping to be more than just a rental for the Chicago Blackhawks.
"Hopefully it turns out really well and I play well and it makes them think about re-signing me," he said after he was reacquired by Chicago on Thursday night. "But we'll cross that bridge [later]." Ladd will play with Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa, who is currently injured. He can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer.

The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired Christian Ehrhoff from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Rob Scuderi.
Ehrhoff reached the 50-point mark in 2010-11, but he's been on the decline since then. He had just 10 points in 40 contests with the Kings and Los Angeles put him on waivers on Feb. 11. After every team passed on his $1.5 million cap hit for the 2015-16 campaign, he was sent to the minors. This trade gives him a new opportunity, but it speaks volumes that his stock has fallen so low that Los Angeles could only trade him in exchange for another bad contract.

Glad to be rid of Scud. Happy to have Ladd back - he's a good multi-role player.

Watched period 2 & 3 of the Pred game. Too much passing again for my taste. All of that cycling and puck possession with no shots is pitiful. Other teams get goals (and chances) just by putting the puck on net - not trying to shoot through a maze of players. Hawks played decent, but Preds capitalized.

Now its Phillip Danault to Montreal for Blackhawks acquire Fleischmann and Weise from Montreal

Fleishman and Weise, two forwards.

Fleischmann, 31, has tallied 20 points (10G, 10A) in 57 games this season with Montreal. A native of the Czech Republic, Fleischmann scored five goals in November including a season-high two goals on Nov. 1 vs. Winnipeg. The forward has played in 638 career games and registered 330 points (133G, 197A). In 35 career Stanley Cup Playoffs games, he has posted nine points (4G, 5A). Currently in his 11th NHL season, Fleischmann has also spent time with Washington (2005-10), Colorado (2010-11), Florida (2011-2014) and Anaheim (2014-15). He was originally selected by Detroit in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2002 NHL Draft.

Weise, 27, has recorded 26 points (14G, 12A) in 56 games with Montreal this season; he ranks second on the Canadiens with 108 hits and has added 117 shots on goal. The Winnipeg native has posted 85 points (37G, 48A) in 314 career NHL games across six seasons with the New York Rangers (2010-11), Vancouver (2011-14) and Montreal (2014-16). He has added 10 points (5G, 5A) in 34 Stanley Cup Playoffs games. Weise was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft.

I guess we see what this means tomorrow, sounds like Andrew Shaw might be going back to center on the third line, Weise will provide some physicallity on the fourth where Manshinter and Sekak seemed to fall away.

Last Jackel report said the Montreal trade was to find wingers to play with Teuvo centering that third line. Who knows where shaw goes now.

I'm sure Q will play with his new toys until he finds lines that he likes.

I was just wondering if anyone thought there was more of a shaw or Teuvo to center push behind this. I am sure Rasmussen will be out or at wing when Krueger comes back, but it seemed like Montreal really wanted Danault, so that was what it took to get these two rentals. Seems like another high price, but maybe I can see some opponents run into the second row.

I'd guess it was just an overall attempt to get a little more scoring punch out of the bottom 2 lines.

Svedberg reassigned.

With Q, you never know what he has up his sleeve.
But I like Shaw on the same line with Toews. Maybe Shaw isn't the "finesse" player you typically see on the top line, but camping in the blue paint, he gives defenses fits since they can't ignore Shaw, but they also can't allow Toews to skate around unguarded.

Yotes claimed Sekac.

Part of what I see, though, is Toews is also willing to go to the blue paint. Panik seems willing, Shaw is willing, so when Shaw and Toews are on that same line, you dont have a willing paint man for the third line, even though they switch when the paint guy goes chasing a puck in the corner.

Called Teuvos name alot yesterday, was playing a very good two way center. Looks like he got instant karma with Fleishmann, both were really noticeable. Also noticeable was it seemed like the third line played alot. They have been a lost line for Joe. Weiss waiting for visa issues, I guess that is confusing to me since they play most of their games in the states anyway. Great to see Ladd get on the board his first game with an assist.

"And although the Hawks are allegedly "done", I have heard that they might be looking for a last minute bargain in an anticipated buyer's market today. And, yes, they would like to find a taker for Bryan Bickell, likely a swap of less desirable contracts, if it happens at all."

I would think they're still open to improving the D. I've read they're still having conversations with Toronto about Bickell.

LA Kings just got Versteeg, boy theres a style that guy definitely does not fit with. Prospect and a fifth rounder..

Still kinda think they plan to use Bickell in the playoffs if they still have him, that was where he did his work. They released Carruth from his AHL contract and signed him to a two way deal. I thought Leighton would be the guy called up in case of injury.

I am not sure if we will see Erhoff or not, seems to have fell out of favor in LA, where Q's rope is even shorter.

My exact thoughts on Versteeg, too...

Q will probably take a week or so to evaluate Ehrhoff in practice and let him learn the system a bit. I'm sure he'll get some game time, soon. But, you're right. It will be a pretty short leash...

after signing caruth to the two way deal, the hawks trade to get carolinas system goalie who is 11-13 and assigned him to Rockford. Did Leighton get released?

Blackhawks acquire MacIntyre from Carolina

I guess thats why it feels sometimes like its stan making moves just to make moves

Traded some guy Dennis Robertson that we got back for Versteeg.

Hawks pick up Tim Jackman and a 2017 7th round pick from Anaheim for prospect forward Corey Tropp. They had gotten Tropp in the Saad trade, I believe. Jackman will serve as added muscle for the first series or two of the playoffs when things tend to be a bit nasty.

the cat is out of the bag of who is going down when Krueger is ready to go.

Why Dennis Rasmussen Spent A Couple Of Hours In The AHL

Barring injury, Rassmussen has been called a true centerman, and the hawks would rather keep him there instead of pushing him out to wing.

how do these players get into the country to play in games?

Anyway, Erhoff looked pretty good tonight. Keith was doing his run and hide behind the net, Erhoff just plowed thru three forecheckers to enter the zone on the PP. Very interesting when Desjardins went out in concussion protocol after that hit the fucking refs did not allow the fight to happen, Fleishmann was the guy double shifting on top and third lines. Shows a ton for a guy that just got here. Then it was Teuvo and Fleishman paired in the four on four shifts too.

Beautiful game by Crow, they had so many chances in the second. Man I miss this rivalry. Wicked wrister by kane, beautiful pass to panarin twice. They better save some of Panarins one timers for the playoffs though.

Quick turn in boston tonight, this is where this deep team should be able to mix and match some lines for a fresh body or two, but they know its gonna be physical.
