Nothing BREAKING about this, it was expected for months and almost happened during the AS break. 9 coaches since 07 is about an average of 1 head coach per season, and it'll also be their 6th head coach in 4 years. Can't wait to see who leads them to a losing record next year! :L

If Doc is retained as GM/Coach for the Clips, I give him an 80% chance of giving Austin Rivers a 4 year 40M deal.

Demarcus needs a coach that is going to not bullshit him and also hold him accountable. So far only Malone was able to reach that sort of rapport with him. Mark Jackson would have a similar effect on him if hired. Thibs too.

JVG really going to interview for the Wolves job? If this doesn't bring him out of the booth, nothing will.

Thibs also looks like he has a good chance of landing this gig. He wants full control and Minny is willing to give it. Seems to be down to those two.

Seriously. If they offer him the job and he says no, then there's no reason any team should ever interview him. That team is loaded. A coach is stupid if they turn that down front office control or not

Mark Jackson would be the best out of those candidates. VDN would be probably the best strategist of the three, but that's not saying much. Seems like slim pickings for the Kings right now.

Just saw Scott Brooks may go to the Wiz. They could do worse.

We'll see how much he wants the Lakers job. Brooks supposedly was/is waiting to see what LA does but the Wizards are throwing a considerable chunk of change at him. Pretty easy to take that cash when you get the chance.

All 5 years guaranteed. Tough to turn that down.

I believe it will be another year of Byron in LA.

Thibs supposedly WANTED to be in LAL and bring his prodigious team USA recruiting acumen, but supposedly the Lakers ownership couldnt get on the same page to get it done.

That is bad news for hte Lakers in my book...horrible news...Thibs could have made ALL the difference recruiting wise and defensively with the young guys. I gotta say- if its true that Thibs wanted to be there and fractions in the front office prevented that from happening- than the Lakers are in some big trouble.

Thibs wanted front office powers that he wasn't going to get in LA. He has that in Minnesota now. It is an unknown how capable he will be in that part of the job though.
