Why did they wait so long is the bigger question?

Because the Wiz might have gone to the conference finals last year if Wall didn't get hurt. While there's a case for be made for Wittman to be out, you have to consider the chemistry adjustment the team had to go through with Pierce leaving and Markieff Morris coming in.

I think i'd be ok giving Scott the chance to coach the Lakers for one more season. Especially if we get a top free agent or two and land Ingram or Simmons.

On the other hand if they fire him for Thibs or Luke i'd be ok with that too.
