Zach Boychuk: opinion?

Just curious. Obvious pedigree, but there's obviously a reason the guy has been in the AHL for awhile. NHLN said there were a few reasons they waived him, part being financial, so I'm curious what your take is. I mean, if the Pens got him that means a lot of teams passed...or well, some did.

i knew they were waiving with the intention of sending to Charlotte, but damn.
Pretty sure it was mostly a financial/numbers/too many players decision.

He's our top AHL guy. :)

So, to use a former Cane turned Pen view... He will probably give you a Craig Adams like experience. Works very hard, has offensive upside, and they've tried him on every line, shows sparks, but never could put it all together. Fans will like him and want him to succeed, but keep expectations to 3rd/4th line or two way for now.

Watch, THIS will be the year he breaks out. :/

Thanks for the heads up. I know Bylsma mentioned that he's gonna try him out on Geno's line (personally he should have a shot on Sid's line instead of Chris "I can no longer play hockey" Kunitz), but he very likely has a spot on the third line, especially if they move TK up. Our third line needs a kick in the pants anyway. And I'd gladly take another Craig Adams. Craig isn't spectacular, but he knows his role and plays it damn well.
