Notice Ty Cobb isn't on the list. Even though i hate the guy, I do admire his drive and passion to play the game, even if he was a little fixated on individual statistics versus his team play. I wish we had more players with his passion on the Phillies today.

These things are tough. By today's standards, most players for, say, 80 years, were probably racists. A bunch of players are womanizer's and drug users and we don't know who. And, unless we know a player personally, most of our knowledge goes through the media which can have agendas. Although social media is making it easier for players to be more open with fans today. So I'm sure there are a lot of Luke Scott's out there that we don't know about. So it's really not possible to say who the biggest asshole in MLB history was.

But it's Kevin Slowey.

Cobb allegedly killed a dude and was a racist too. Where is Jose Canseco? I'd also add Kirk Gibson. When he played for LA I saw him on several occassions tell kids who wanted his autograph off.

no, but i do have sympathy for those who unfortunately fall victim to drug addiction. at least their behavior can be attributed to their substance abuse, and they may not be assholes when sober

nearly every player in that time period was racist. and yeah, there a ton of players who aren't on my list who are dicks, like canseco and gibson

He wasn't as bad a Bonds, but he was a bit self centered, hated the media, and never acknowledged the fans (until his amazing cart ride at the Fenway All Star Game - which still gives me the chills)...
