Big Time Network deals

Its been getting out of hand for the last couple of years and now its rearing its ugly head.

Texas launched its own network by signing a multi-billion dollar deal with ESPN.
I blame ESPN as much as anyone in this for their greed.

In my opinion this has to be stopped. These television deals are ruining college football. Everyone is out for the money and now we have talk of wanting to pay the players.

Have we all gone mad?

What can be done? I'm not an expert and I don't want to speculate in that area but it saddens me to see that schools are leaving their conference due to television deals because that is exactly what A&M is doing.

I think regional conference deals are fine. Even good for sports. However when it becomes an advantage like Texas has tried to turn theirs into than it has gone too far.

A&M is leaving the Big (insert # here) because they are not playing on an equal playing field. The Big 12 will cater to Texas and let them bully the conference as long as there is still a conference. A&M is looking to be treated as equals in their conference. Not too much to ask if you as me.

Alot of that blame can be put on Dan Beebe. He is a spinless commish and needs to go.

Texas and ESPN wants to show high school highlights on the LHN. I guess show no high school football means maybe to those two.

I stand by my statement (made over in disneyland ) that the big xii will be dead in less than 5 years. OU will get smart next and evacuate the sinking ship. After that it will be texas and the 7 dwarves. Nobody will want to watch, and they will lose AQ status.
