No we stayed in the rankings that year way longer than we should have. I think it was December by the time the pollsters had given up on us.

Really hope we take it to Indiana Thursday morning and keep building on it!

    IU game is winnable.

I'm not so sure about the Kansas game. Big East teams have won some big games against Top 10 teams early season, but I'm not sure Marquette has the personnel to take down Kansas. I will be watching though.

    Good to be back.

I think we lose on Wednesday tho.

Neutral floor we win. But I think assembly will be tough. Morgan will be a load to stop.

Fuck is going on with Nova? I guess Michigan won't shoot up the rankings like I first though.

Classic proven coaching wiping the floor with Wojo in adjustments.

Still, a much more encouraging game than the Indiana debacle.

Team should be fine for BE play. But gotta win UL and some home non con games

Just sloppy with taking care of the ball.

    Bad TOs against token pressure.

I also don't know why they don't use Anim and Cain more to slash to the basket. It was effective last year.

The Hauser/Howard hero ball thing is not working.

At least it looks like Creighton will pick up a win versus a ranked team.

Cain needs to play more imo. Good shooter and excellent rebounder.

He’s got the most pro potential of anyone on the team TBH

UL was better than I thought but still we shoulda won that comfortably but instead got lucky to escape.

Good free throw shooting is key. Defense was great(rebounding not as much)

Have to clean up the mistakes an offensive identity but a key win. Need Greg Elliot back.

Bilas gonna keep bitching about the missed 3 point for UL tho

Programs like L'ville and Arizona are always gonna have talent no matter how many parents they pay off and how many hookers they hire.

    They've got $.

It wouldn't be surprising if both made the tourney. Much needed win for Marquette.

Yeah this UL team was still solid. Enoch is a load. The pg Cunningham was impressive. Nwora seems improved.

They are not as naturally talented as most UL teams but they seemed more fundamentally sound with their jump shots/free throws. At least this game.

Now we head home for rest of non con

    Yuppers.

BE is slowly picking up some quality wins.

If by some miracle, Villanova can beat Kansas, or Creighton can take out Gonzaga, then the league would be right back to where it was in the past few years.

    But ... unlikely.

Yup long way to go but still some wins on the table.

Wisconsin, Kstate and Buffalo are solid wins Marquette can still get.

But Kansas and Gonzaga would be the big ones

This Gonzaga/Creighton game has been ridiculously good.

    Huge win.

Maybe the worst officiated game I have ever seen. Techs, pointless reviews, whistles for no reason, bad fouls. But we needed an emphatic W.

Kstate is a little overrated(much less than Loyola but similar march hype) but we beat them soundly.

Turnover are still too much. But big win.

The two things aside from defense(which was also very good) that Wojo has focused on this year were the keys to the win.

Much more depth- Kstate has a good starting 5 but almost nothing beyond that. MU has a bunch of interchangeable guys

Scheduling- I think we saw the schedule pay off. Kstate hadn’t been tested yet where as we already had 3 games tougher than anything they faced yet.

Still have a ways to go. But good to see those things make a difference
