Why would we? He was our team's MVP last year and was, prior to injury, the only player in our secondary playing worth a damn.

He was having a bad year this year and we drafted his replacement. If we are going to rebuild lets just rebuild and let the young kids play and save money.

ok so if we cut him we would have dead money of 2.5 next year and 1.5 the following year. Overall not bad because if we keep him he would cost us 6.2 next year and 7 mill the following year. So yes cutting him would be good if Tartt shows he can be the starter. Again i might be wrong but I think this is what this website is saying. click on his name.

Furthermore, because our ILB can't fucking cover TEs to save their lives, Tartt has been assigned the role of being an undersized LB in coverage during nickel/dime packages. That role is independent of what Bethea is doing. So if we ARE going to go away from Bethea next season, which I think is a HUGE mistake, then we need to pick up above average coverage ILB in either the draft or FA to compensate for the coverage loss of Tartt.

We have one. We just traded for that LB. They say he was ranked as one of the better Cover LB's. We just done play him. Instead we play Wilhoite who sucks ass.

Wilhoite graded out awful last week. I think he was the worst player graded at something like -5.7.
