Looks like a runaway here, I figured if we had some of our older posters posting this one could be closer.
surprised the vote is this (correctly) lopsided. Sayers was good, but got hurt too early, and Barry is the second-best of all time.
Or 4th...
Lol, you're a Vikings fan. I wouldn't expect you to feel any different.
Honestly, I have always liked Barry and think he was probably the most fun player to watch in the history of the sport but IMO there are at least 10 backs i'd rather have if I was playing the Packers at Lambeau in the NFC Championship game. I want my "greatest back of all time" to be great in every situation, Barry simply wasn't that player.
Payton - 9 playoff games 3.65 ypc
Peterson - 4 playoff games - 3.95 ypc
Sanders - 6 playoff games 4.24 ypc

I'm a huge Sanders fan. For me it boils down to him or Payton as the best ever. As of now. Peterson could very well be on the discussion very soon.
All NFCN guys!![]()
Lets look deeper shall we?
Sanders had 1 good playoff game in six. 27 carries 169 yards, never went over 70 in any other game. Oh and let's not forget that 13 carry -1 yard game.
Not only do you have Walter's numbers wrong you have to take into affect nearly all his playoff appearances were after his prime years because his team sucked so bad in those years. Seven of his nine playoff games came after age 30.
Look at AD's playoff games, the only game he's below 4 yards a carry is the blowout of the Cowboys in 2009 and you might notice there's no 13 carry -1 yard performance mixed in.
