How about this one? Lakers convince DeAndre Jordan to walk across the hall. Kills the Clips (they don't have cap space to replace him) and we get a starting lineup of:

C - Jordan
PF - Randle
SF - Kobe
SG/PG - Clarkson
SG/PG - Russell

Biggest drawback is hack-a-DeAndre, unfortunately.

He'd definitely have to work on his FTs as would nearly half the Lakers roster. WE sucked last year at FT shooting.

Randle has dropped 20 pounds and is improving his perimeter jumpshot. If he could handle guarding the quicker wings in this league, that could make filling out the front court very interesting. Mitch was saying last night that he doesn't want to pigeonhole Randle as only a certain positional player. The more versatile the lineup, the better.

Yea he would lakersrule and all he'd have to do is walk across the hall. It'd be great to rub that in River's nose everyday of the season. That bastard still bleeds green and he owes the Lakers an apology for suggesting that the Lakers cover up their banners and trophies during Clip Joint home games.

DeAndre is an option, but that free throw shooting is a huge weakness, and he really doesn't bring any offense other than put backs and catching lobs. That's a lot of money for a basically one dimensional player.

There are other options: Monroe, RoLopez, Asik, Wright, etc, but for diminishing returns of course.

With the 23M available, I'd like to see them split it between RoLopez and one of Middleton/Carroll (if that's enough). If the Lakers could find a vet PG for vet min, I think that would bring some real value as well (to guide Clarkson and Russell). Maybe Hinrich, Udrih, or someone along those lines?

The youth movement while hopefully enjoying one last season by a healthy Kobe. Hopefully they've drafted well.

Well on to summer league. Nothing we can do. Hope Russell is the next Magic. We need something to be happy about. SMH

I agree with wildturkey that the summer league means nothing, but I am looking forward to seeing the young guys playing together and if Upshaw has the talent he seems to.

Hill will probably re-sign. He has had no offers to date. I'll take that line-up going forward.
