13 is also 2nd all time in a single season, the only other times a player has had 13 or more was 1948, 1950 & 1952. The only other player with more than 10 in the last 35 years is Everson Walls who had 11 in 1981. If you watched what Lester did in the 1980 playoffs you would have seen his 1980 season was the best in the history of the game by a corner. He had 5 more INT's during the 1980 playoffs and ended his season with 18 total INT's a record that will NEVER be broken!

I think all-time linebackers would be interesting. Not sure if you do inside and outside or separate them. I think there would be much debate, though.

Well obviously that was just my opinion. Now if I said that Barney had more picks, pick yards, pick 6s, fumble recoveries, pro bowls and all pro selections than Hayes... plus he's in the HOF and Hayes is not, then those would be facts.

Stats is your argument? Emmitt has the most yards, is he the best back of all time? Pete Rose has the most hits, is he the best hitter of all time?
After 1980 teams simply didn't throw it to Lester's side of the field anymore which made it a little more difficult to put up big numbers.
Lynn Swann is in the HOF so that really means nothing to me.

At least it's based on something. Barney was defensive rookie of the year with 10 picks for 273 yards and 3 TDs. Do you think teams decided "yeah, let's go at that guy" after that ?

Being it was 1952 and a completely different game than it was in 1980 who knows, he did have 10 in his 3rd season so it would appear they weren't to concerned with throwing it to his side.
