However, why the F would the Texans do this? Who would have wanted him they would have had to bid on him? Or is this to maintain his rookie contract value only?

Yeah, DeShaun has like 7 lawsuits against him for sexual misconduct. But since they didn't trade him before all this non-sense, there is no way in hell they can afford to just release him. Would kill the cap and compensation. Watson is the Texans QB for better or worse unless he is imprisoned or dies.
