I am all for selecting a QB to compete with Dalton from the draft. I just don't see it happening, so no point in getting my panties in a bunch over it. Dalton is frustrating as hell at times, but his overall numbers and the fact he has gone to probably 3 consecutive playoffs in his first three years is going to trump any of our frustrations as a fan, because management is going to show faith in him.
I think we should at the very least have a solid young backup incase of injury. You never know when your starting QB is going to go down for a long period of time. Look at Cutler, Rodgers, Hoyer, Vick, all these guys. A quality backup is necessary.
If that young backup winds up showing more in practice and in limited play, then he should have the right to earn that job, but I just do not see our management making those changes. *shrugs*
So I am just going to deal with it and hope for the best instead of getting frustrated about it.
