I think we'll beat the Steelers at home, but I think we dump either @Houston or @Tampa Bay. Otherwise, I agree with what you put. 6-10

We're not that good but neither are the Ravens or Steelers. Neither will sweep us.

I'll say 7-9....with a lot of drama over the Burfict contract....and AJ. Plus, Dalton will blow.

9-7. Missed playoffs. Hobs writes colorful articles about our 'winning record.'

I'm as a much a cynic as the next guy but 6-10?....come on guys. With the overall talent on the roster I'd say 8-8 or 9-7. The defense will be good enough to keep it close most of the time. Andy will have enough good games to provoke Crash to proclaim he has arrived...and enough stinkers to have Kramer call for his head on a spike.

He's setting the bar low so he won't be dissapointed by a poor year. Instead of looking at some of the positives and remembering that this is mostly the same team that's gone to the playoffs 3 straight years, they'd rather bitch and moan.

It's actually rather comical. If the team sucks so bad, and are expected to do so poorly why some people around here even bother to post.

Well if we were/remained fans during the 90s, a 6-10 season really isn't that bad all things considered.

What?

6-10?

I certainly would like a sweep but I fear the Steeler DEF on the road is not going to be that great this year either.

8-8 worse case, more likely 9-7

Split with PIT & BAL...PIT,CIN & BAL all need to sweep CLE w/o Gordon to get to 9 or better wins....3-3

Non DIV home games...ATL-? W, if pass rush is good, L if not...TN-W, CAR-W, JAC-W, DEN-L...3-2 worst case, I think 4-1, not sure about ATL DEF on road

Non DIV road games...NE-L, IND-? W, if pass rush is good, L if not...NO-L, HOU-W, TB-W, ...2-3

I don't think the team sucks...... We have a lot of talent. But 4 straight playoff seasons is no small feat and you have to figure that sooner or later we're going to have one of those years where injuries and schedule fuck us up.

My fears:

Geno and Leon fail to get back to form early in the season.
One of our key three offensive linemen get hurt (Zeitler, Tits, or Whit) and we don't have the same depth without Collins.
Newman starts to show his age. Kirkpatrick remains a bust. Denard has a few growing pains.
The receivers get off to a slow start without Jones.
Dalton remains Dalton. Marvin remains Marvin.

Admittedly, many of these are worst case scenarios. If we can avoid injury and get at least some improvement at QB we'll win 9 or more.

12-4 with a first round bye. 12-4 with this schedule also means there are no questions about the talent of this team because some of these games are really hard.

I don't care if we go 6-10, I feel decent about this prediction, and could care less how I am teased. No point in going into the season with a negative mindset until the team forces me to have a negative mindset, which surely has not happened through the offseason or the preseason.

we're going ALL THE WAY bitches

That is more like it. The real fans show up and believe. You don't spend $100 bucks to go to a game to trash the team, moan and bitch about everything. You cheer, your hopeful, your excited, your ready for the results to match the enthusiasm. Fan-atic!

honestly, if I ever have to move to another town for work, I'll stop following the Bengals.

they have abused the trust of the locals, that's why there's so many f'n steeler bumper stickers and flags in Cincinnati.

I generally consider myself a pessimistic fan and I see this as a 10-12 win team barring catastrophic injury issues. It's the most talented roster in the division and outside of the lack of an All Pro QB it's as good as almost any team's in the entire league.

The schedule always looks difficult this time of the year. Denver might have homefield advantage clinched by week 16. At NE and at NO are the only other games where they'll be heavy underdog all year.
